Enhncing your computer Performance

Hi guys,

There are several ways b ding which one can enhance the computer speed without any cost.
Some of the ways are:-

1.Emptying the tmp directory.
Just go to run Start button and type %temp%
Now select all files and press SHIFT+DELETE button to remove the files. This will increase your computer speed.

2.defragmenting the hard disk.
ime to time defragmenting the hard disk will improve the computer performance.
Just right click on any hard disk partition like C or drive and click on the Proprties and go to Tools. Now click on the defragment Now button to defragment that partition.

It wll surely improve the performance of your computer.

3 Creating a Restore Point
Whenever you feel that the computer is working very nicely, just create a restore point from Control Panel meu and later when you feel that the computer speed is not upto the mark then restore your computer to that particular earlier restore point.

4.Wallpapers: They slow your whole system down, so if you're willing to compromise, have a basic plain one instead

5.Minimizing: If you want to use several programs at the same time then minimize those you are not using. This helps reduce the overload on RAM

Thease are the some tricks which can improve the performance of your PC without costing a penny on any hardware.

Boot up to slow

Hi ladurisjames...

Your computer sounds like it is loaded with "junk"
Lets start by doing a disc cleaning, then a defrag of the hard drive, and then get rid of unwanted pictures, programs, etc.that you never use anymore from your computer.
Last resort will be a System Restore.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1...Disc cleaning...Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools> Disc Cleanup
2. Defrag the Hard Drive...Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disc Defragmenter.
3...Delete any unused programs,files,pictures...etc.
4. Final resort: System Restore...this will restore your computer to a time when it was operating good, you have to pick the date when it was running good....Click Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
After you have completed the above your computer should run faster.

My computer is very slow

Hi target to sp...
Try doing a Defrag of your Hard drive and also a disc cleaning.
Both will get rid of junk on your computer to make it run faster.
1...Left click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools> Disc cleanup
2...Left click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disc Defragment
Note: > means "next"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If that does not work then try restoring your computer to an earlier time when it was running fast.
3...Left Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Restore

My avg antivirus stopped working?

Hi, Did you update the software? Do not have 2 anti-virus programs running because they can have conflictions with each other. There for 1 or both will stop running. The same with firewalls. Good luck.

I ran my norton diagnostic test and it said my CPU was running slow. I noticed that my mouse cursor was moving slow... *sigh* what can I do for my CPU? Can I upgrade my Dell Inspiron 9300? Thank you

first i would get rid of norton. norton takes up too much resources . and also it takes too much control of your computer. do a disk clean up and a disk defrag. that will clean up ur computer .
go to start then all programs then acessories then system tools then disk clean up. if you notice disk defrag is there also. so is system restore and system information system information tells you everything about your computer. and system restore , restores your computer to an earlier date.
i hope this information was helpful.

Low disk space

If you are using windows as your o/s; open the control panel, click on performance & maintenance, run a disk cleanup then defrag your drive. The recovery bar red means that the space allotted for recovery operations is very low. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
