BIOS passwords can be reset in two ways,
1. using software 2. using hardware.

I would first try resetting using software, here are two software's to reset or retieive BIOS passwords.

How to unlock lenovo e520 laptop, password not working

OK, if you are running Windows 7, Microsoft tightenedsecurity on it so you've got to have a password reset disk which 99% of thepeople who own laptops with windows 7 fail to do. It should be one of thefirst things you do when you buy the laptop. Otherwise, you're faced withreinstalling the Operating System or possibly doing a System Recovery.

If you're on Windows XP or Vista try this:

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on andimmediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Safe Modeoption. Select SAFE MODE and let the computer boot up. When it getsto the User Login screen it will show the Administrator userid and the useridfor which you forgot the password. Sign in as the Administrator (hopefullyyou didn't put a password on it and forgot it too). Once the desktopappears it will look different, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, but this is normal for safe mode.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts
When the User Accounts screen opens, click on the userid for which you forgotthe password. Select the option to REMOVE PASSWORD.

Reboot your machine.

My daughter put password on 7" notebook and forgot it we can not log on , os is embedded windows ce 5.0

This happened to a friend of mine, who ended up hiring a specialist who had some expensive password recovery software. An alternate solution is to either re-install the operating system, but you'd lose your files.

Perhaps see if you can boot to a previous system state?

Password

because its a vista system, you have to get someone to hack the system and change the password, there is no option to boot into the Administrator account because it is dissabled by default. She has no access to the pc at all now and i doubt that a high street store will correct the problem for you (even though it can be done). They will suggest a recovery which will wipe out all you daughters personal data depending on the type of recovery done

Unlocking a password protected PC

Well, the suffering just happened here or there. But the first thing you should check is whether you have the password recovery CD burned while you set the password.

If you don't have, then probably you have to rely on a third-party software. Take a try this All-In-One password recovery software, it should help clear and reset the lost password and bypass the locked computer.

Note: you can do this on your own, no need to send the PC to anybody for any repair because it's dangerous for your private information stored on the computer, best regards.
