Videos on memory card can be watched while in camera, but when I try to download to computer it says the card is empty.

I can view all the videos while the PNY card is in my camera. The card is set in the "unlocked" position. I tried downloading them (I've tried 3 different computers) and I've used a card adapter, tried directly from the pop-out USB port in the camera and have also tried via a cable. My husband connected the camera directly to the TV thinking that if the card stays in the camera we can watch the movies and save them on a disk. None of these attempts worked. The computers tell me there is nothing on the card. I took it to Best Buy to see if they could recover anything and they are seeing nothing on the card....but could try recovering files for $299 (per card...I have 2). These videos are from a dream vacation. The 2 other memory cards I brought along (Sandisk) worked just fine. PNY has no solution and only offered to reimburse me for the card IF I have my receipt!!!! I purchased their cards expecting them to function as advertised and am extremely disappointed that I probably lost these videos forever. That is, unless I watch them through my camera.

Spoke to Kodak (my camera is a Kodak) to ask why the movies can be viewed while the card is in my camera, but the videos cannot be viewed when the card is connected to the computer......after holding for quite a while they came back and said it was a computer problem!!!!! Everyone just keeps passing the buck.

SOURCE: I cannot upload pictures/ videos from my PNY 8GB memory stick.

The newer large capacity cards in cameras designed for smaller capacity cards seem to have trouble interfacing with our computers. The best best is to get a high speed firewire memory card reader and attach it directly to your computer.
This should allow your computer to recognize your card and also allow you quicker downloads.

SOURCE: My computer won't recognize my phones memory card!

Well I found that these older card readers will not read the 4g sdhc format. In your case you found a 4 gig card that can be read (your sisters) Bring your's back to the store and get an exchange for the brand your sister has, let them know this. The knowledge for them is good. They most alway accomadate just to keep the customer happy.

SOURCE: Not able to copy movies on Sony 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for PSP

Before you go throwing any old video file onto your PSP, make sure you have the following items:

  • The PSP. This is self-explanatory.
  • The .MP4 video files.
  • Video conversion software to convert non-MP4 files to MP4, the format the PSP reads.

MEMORY CARD SHOWING FULL BUT WHEN CAMERA CONNECTED TO DOWNLOAD TO LAPTOP OR DESKTOP ITS SHOWING FREE SPACE AND USED SPACE BUT NOT SHOWING ANY PICTURES AND VIDEOS,

Save the pictures and videos on the card. Try reformatting the card in the computer, and then again using the camera. The first reformat will ensure the card is empty, and then the camera reformat will ensure that it is recognized by the camera. If the camera reformat will not work, try a new card.

How do i access my photographs

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Then you can view them on the computer.

Memory card shows empty on pc, but it does have pics and videos

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I can't find the disks to be able to download my videos to computer. Also, when I tried to save my video from SD memory card it did not "see" the videos.

What is the make and model of your camera so that we may provide the link to the drivers which you can download and install? Also is the memory card showing up as empty when you are trying to copy the videos?

Try copying the videos using the memory card reader.

Have a olympus sp-56 ouz digital camera and I can't figure out how to delete videos taken on the camera. I've already transfered them to my computer and I've deleted all images, but it won't delete the...

Hello, The videos will not be in the same folder where your pictures are. Follow these steps. 1.First, connect your digital camera to your computer. You can do this in two different ways: a.Use a USB cable. Most digital cameras come with a cable that connects the camera to a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port on your computer. The first time you connect your camera to your computer, the New Hardware Wizard will help you install the software needed to copy pictures and video from your camera. You may need to insert the CD-ROM that was included with your camera into your computer's CD drive or download software from your camera manufacturer's Web site. b.Use memory card reader. A memory card reader is a piece of hardware that plugs into your computer. When you're ready to download video, you can remove the memory card from your camera and insert it into your memory card reader, similar to the way you might transfer a file between two computers using a floppy disk. Picture of a computer with a memory card Tip: It's usually faster to use a memory card reader to copy your pictures or video than to connect your camera to your computer with a cable. If you don't own a memory card reader, you might want to consider purchasing one. They are inexpensive and will save you time. 2.Once you've connected your camera to your computer or inserted your memory card into your memory card reader, Windows XP will detect the connection to your memory card and ask what to do with your videos. Click Open folder to view files, and then click OK. Click Open folder to view files, and then click OK 3.Windows Explorer opens, showing your memory card. Your videos are contained within one of the subfolders of the memory card. Double-click each folder to locate your videos. 4.Once located. copy them to your computer and then select all and delete. Please rate my solution. Good luck, Jegan
