Question about Haier BC112G Wine Cooler

Temperature gets and stays around 40 degrees then back freezes up

The past few months we noticed the wine cooler stayed at around 42 degrees regardless of how we set it. The back a bit of ice. We defrosted and reset it. Went down to 42 again and completely got icy in the back. My husband thinks it should just be thrown away. Is this a problem that can be fixed moderately easy. We have no handy man in htis house.

I checked the "fins" I believe they are the blackpanel behind the fridge. Minimal dust with a silver back of the fridge behind it.... That is what you are talking about isn't it? So if there is no dust on these and the fridge ices up. You feel it is the compressor and just throw out?

thanks alot! You saved me the trouble of taking it somewhere to be told it was a waste of time!!

Unit may be a little low on refrigerant or a faulty thermostat. Worth repairing if you are thinking of replacing a new one. A little dust on the fins at rear has nothing to do with your freezing up problem.

Have you checked the fins in the back to make sure that they are clean and not clogged with dust. If you have or you do not have any then your compressor is bad and you are best just throwing it away. If you have fins back there, use a spray bottle with hot water and put a towel under it and just spray and spray and spray until you can see through it with a flash light

Yes, there are only two reason why a freezer or frig will ice up, Dirty coils which are the fins in the back, or the compressor has gone bad

Why does my wine cooler run too cold?

If after adjusting your thermostat to desired temp and is still cooling. The thermostat is bad or your relay is bad
If you disconnect the thermostat and the compressor stops it most likely a bad thermostat
If you disconnect the relay from
The thermostat and it stay running it is the relay. It is sticking
If possible store you wine somewhere else and shut the unit down and unplug for 10 to 20 minutes this may cause some melt of condensation some water may be on the floor if is to cold
This may also reset the system.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP

REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK

OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

Wine cooler does not cool and does not stay on setting

It may be a good idea to call Emerson. The cooler you have has a temperature control board. At this moment I do not know for sure where you can get a replacement circuit board. Here below is a link to Emerson's on-line technicians. Give that a try and let me know how things go, Thanks, Sea Breeze (click below)

Haier Wine Fridge problem

Hello bano24
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

You have a faulty cold control (temperature control)
The cold control is a temperature actuated switch and should open when the set temperature has been achieved. If the control does not open and turn the compressor off, it will continue to run and all items in the fresh food section will begin to freeze.
Check the control for continuity.
And or need a hands on service tech to diagnose this fault

Is the compressor running? I don't know this unit, but know that if you are too warm that is the first thing to check. In reading about another unit that had a different problem, it was mentioned that there is a ciruit board. If it has relays on it then these are the most likely culprit. They are either not making contact or staying in contact too long... sometimes just tapping each relay usually a black plastic component will cause it to work intermittently..Not sure if you can get these but call the company help line at 1-800-263-2629.
