I have connected my cordless phone. When I tried to make a call I can dial from the phone but the sound comes from my computer. According with magic jack help I went to magic jack menu and choose phone instead of headset. However the phone option is not available. Other choice was to get another phone and also did not work
"However the phone option is not available..." Are you sure? you can switch to headset or by phone anytime you want. Switching to either one of these devices you need to right click on your magicJack phone number in the software(located at the top left portion) and click on "switch to phone/telephone".
I had the same problem. My Magicjack changed to headset somehow. I could not toggle between telephone and headset. This you can do when you go to 'menu' which will be on right top of magicjack dialing pad and then click on volume/headset control and then select 'telephone'. Actually I couldn't toggle between these two. I followed whatever the customer service asked me to do. Finally, when i right clicked on magicjack dialing pad, there was an option to change to telephone. Then it worked.

go back to that base station and ensure that it recognizes the bedroom phone
follow the user manual to install other phones
the bedroom phone has to be the same exactly and not earlier versions or different makes
This sounds like a problem that MagicJack support can troubleshoot for you. I have a MagicJack, and I do not have these problems.
You didn't say whether you have your MagicJack device plugged into your computer, or whether (like me) you have your MagicJack connected to your home network directly with just an Ethernet cable.
If you have your MagicJack plugged into a USB port on your computer, there is a possibility that some program installed on your computer is dialing the phone numbers Such a program would almost certainly be malware that you want to remove.
If you do not have an anti-malware program installed on your computer, you should get one immediately. There are quite a few free anti-malware programs, like Avast or AVG, that you can install to help protect your computer from malware.
If you do have an anti-malware program installed, you should check to see if the malware detection rules are current. Most anti-malware programs will let you view the version and last update date of the anti-malware program itself, and the last update date for the detections rules. The rules themselves should be update almost daily, due to the number of new threats emerging every day.
Magic Jack does not quite work as good as advertised. Sometimes it makes a difference which USB port you have it plugged in. I installed one a couple of years ago and I am trying to go by memory. With your computer running plug in the magicjack. The blue light should come on. I think I looked at "My Computer" and it shows up as taking two drives probably E: and F:. If I remember correctly, I opened them up and found a magicjack icon that I then dragged it down to my "Start" button. That way it tries to start magicjack on every startup of the computer. I takes a long time for magicjack to load when you start the computer. It also ties up all resources and you can't use you computer for anything else for about 3-5 minutes. I really don't understand why it takes so long, something they don't tell you on the commercials. I have an older computer, about 8 y,o. that I have mine plugged into. That is almost all I use this computer for, other than some bookkeeping and sort of a server for our house. The magicjack does not have quality sound, but somedays it works rather well. I mainly have it for a fax line. Hope some of this may help you.
Try your magicjack device in another usb port, as they sometimes share an irq internally with other devices, hence the chopped sound. Also make sure your computer is no trying to go into sleep or suspended mode, check the power settings to make sure the system is not shutting down devices in low power or battery mode if using a laptop, make sure the connection speed is good and strong, especially if connected to a laptop, and make sure nothing is hogging the cpu, causing the chopped sound. Also there could be issues with the router. Lastly, perform a firmware upgrade on your magicjack device, restart the machine, and then test it again. Good luck.
