If the machine did sew fast the the replacement motor, then the problem might be that the machine is getting gummed up somewhere. Pull off the top cover, remove the 5 screws from the bottom of the base plate, (4 large screws, 1 small screw), remove the base plate remove the 1 screw from the bottom of the free arm cover. Now you can see most of the moving parts. Spray a little WD 40 on all the areas that you see metal to metal rubbing together, both on the bottom side of the machine and the top side. Don't flood the machine and stay away from the motor area. Plug the machine in, lay it on it's back and run it full speed, or at least till it runs full speed. After you free it up, blow out the machine with compressed air, and reoil with tri flow all the areas again. Run the machine again, and you've started your own tail gate repair shop.
There are several reason for the computer to be running slow for the start please try restarting the computer to safe mode with networking (Steps given below) and check if your browsing speed is better. If your internet browsing speed not better in safe mode with networking then you need to contact your ISP to complain about slow speed.
If it is working fine in safe mode, then some of the software (example: Antivirus / Internet Security / Firewall) is slowing down your computer. Please try removing it. Also try reducing the color scheme, use a non aero theme and see if your comptuer is working fine. If so your processor is not able to take the load of windows 7 visual effects aswell as other programs running in the background at the same time
Do you have a lever below the digital stitch window? That's where you change the speed. There are 3 speeds on this machine ranging from "slower than frozen molasses" to "autobahn" ... When you try the different speeds, you'll see what I mean!
On the one that isn't working properly, try and see if the video card driver for your model of card has been installed. you might find it is only using Default Video Adapter driver, you can find out by going to (in XP) - Display in Control Panel, goto Settings, Advanced, Adapter.
when was the last time your computer worked fine? run system restore and choose a restore point prior to when the issue started. if no restore point is available, open run and enter 'msconfig', go to startup and disable unecessary startup programs. also open the prefetch folder and delete its contents. then restart your system. if it's still slow, i suggest you backup your files and reinstall windows. make sure that you operate the laptop on a flat surface to avoid any ventilation blockage. hope it'll help. good day. =)'
Well, upgrading the ram COULD help, firstly before spending any money run a disk defrag by right clicking the drive and going to tools, also note that their may be viruses on the computer so downloading AVAST and running the preboot scan would help ALOT. the easiest way is to run a recovery but you would need either the recovery discs or a fresh windows install disk (preferably xp) that should do the trick my friend, if you have any issues please let us all know
