Waring blender jub blades are stiff to turn

The blades of my Waring sixtieth anniversary blender have got progressively stiffer, despite cleaning and oiling, and now are almost impossible to turn. Any advice?

Same problem just came up on my blender. The blade assembly is removable/replaceable, but I don't have the tools to fix it. Might have to buy a new blender jar.

SOURCE: Waring Pro MBB Blender- blade too tight

If you can get the shaft out of its bearing, you can clean the shaft with steel wool. You may also have to scrape the inside of the bearing with a small rat-tail file.
Put some vegetable oil on the shaft and reassemble.

DO NOT USE WD-40 OR 3-IN-1 OIL! This mechanism will be in contact with food/beverages, so you want a lubricant that is safe for human consumption.

If the problem continues to occur, I would buy a replacement. In some models, this means buying a whole pitcher assembly.

I just figured it out. The key is you need to think in terms of keeping the blades and the large washers separate. Here's what you do.
Thread the blade through the glass and use the white rubber gaskets against the glass and the stainless gaskets against the hardware. Then tighten the whole enchilada to the blender with the main nut (that goes on the bottom outside of the blender). Then once that's nice and tight tighten the flange that catches the blender teeth to the remaining portion of the protruding threads. Make sure you use the copper colored gasket first then the stainless washer then the stainless flange. Tighten that real good and you should be good to go.
To check if you've done it right spin the flange. If the blades spin independent of everything else you're good to blend away!

You can call Waring and they can send you a parts breakdown showing the order the parts need to be in. If you still have problems they can go over the assembly with you on the phone or direct you to a service center near you to help.

SOURCE: burning smell when used

No need to oil it. The carbon brush maybe sparking already it is located inside the motor. It is due to damaged Armature or overloaded motor.

Waring blender shoots food out the top

Are you blending something hot? When you blend a hot item the steam that is released will increase the pressure in the headspace above the contents in the blender. The lid will eventually blow off to release the pressure.

To avoid this problem begin blending with no more that one cup of ingredients. Before turning the blender on, remove the center lid insert to allow venting of steam. Blend on low speed. As you blend you can add another 1 1/2 cups of additional liquid through the opening in the lid.

Trust this method will resolve your problem.

My blender appears to be leaking from the bottom. Is it likely to be the jug or the coupling to the motor?

It is likely to be the rubber washer on the jug. You will need to disassemble the mixing blades and remove the rubber washer(s) from the jug and take it with you to a Target, Walmart or kitchen store. They usually carry a varity of the washers and you should be able to compare yours to get the right size. Some actually tell you exactly what mixers they fit.

We have an old Waring Futura 900 blender that leaks at the bottom of the glass around the beater blades. How do you repair? Is there a gasket?

Yes their is a gasket. However try to tied the hole blade kit a litle harder since it might be loose, it might be also dirty you can loose it clean it and put it back.
Have a visual insections since the glass might be broken a litle bit also.
Good luck

I have a Waring Pro Speciality Blender. After only a few times in use, the jar began leaking and I noticed glass shards around the outer rim of the jar. The blades are fixed on this model. I wrote to the...

If you don't see a physical crack or stress line on the jar, the issue could be either the gasket or blade assembly - Waring doesn't list any parts for sale for this model, but you may be able to call them and get these parts. There are not very many reviews on this particular Waring, so I am working with very limited information (and this is just my opinion), but the few that I have seen suggest that this might be the worst blender Waring ever made (in general, though, their blenders are usually top-notch).

Consumer Guide generally rates it high, but issues this:
"Cons: Strong churning motion requires you to hold the lid in place to prevent leakage through the top and limits the ingredients capacity, especially for hot mixtures"

The sites that invite the most user input into the rating generally give it a 2-star rating.

Waring seems to have escaped somewhat from their usual blender shape - and I have even heard that the shaft is made out of rubber, which is frightening.

Blade doesn't spin freely

Here's the parts order form from Waring:
http://www.waringproducts.com/ret/parts/

Once you receive the parts, unscrew the collar from the bottom of the jar, and the old gasket and blade assembly will pop out - sometimes you have to peel the gasket apart from blender jar, but not always.

Stopped blending

Exact same problem.  Turned out the threaded shaft that holds the blades was broken so tightening the nut on the top doesn't really help.  Just ordered a new blade assembly from www.smallappliance.com.  Mine was the Waring 007314W Blender Cutting Assembly but there is also an older one for earlier models.  Don't know if it will work yet (assume it will), but cheaper than buying a new blender.
