Question about KitchenAid (KSRD22FKST) Side by Side Refrigerator

Open Question

KSRJ25CN thermostat resetting with door close

I noticed last night that my KSRJ25N was not cooling. I traced the problem to the thermostat computer, which was resetting every time the fridge door closed. When the fridge door was open, all the lights were working, but the fan that moves cold air into the fridge was clicking. Each time that I tried to adjust the temperature, the compressor would kick on for 1 second, then the LED light for the 'Extend fresh temperature management system' would blink, and all the LEDs would turn off. When they flashed back on, the temperature settings defaulted back to the factory setting 4.

Eventually, I took off the cover piece of the temp selector and disconnected the wiring that runs from the temp selector directly to the top of the fridge. It was a 2-wire harness with yellow and black wires. With that disconnected, the fridge is working completely normally again. Both the fridge & freezer are cold, and the resetting problem has disappeared. The fan is no longer clicking either.

I am having a hard time finding a service manual online for this fridge, and the parts stores do not seem to list what this connector is, nor what it is for. If anyone has any ideas as to what it is, or if there is a considerable hazard running the fridge without these wires connected, please post here.

FWIW, I think I have determined the problem to be a screw that was shorting out the computer through a screw. The computer is (cheaply) grounded to a metal plate directly above the computer module. After I put some electrical tape on the three screws that hold the computer in place, and reassembled the whole thing, everything is running again normally.

If you can think of anything else that I should check, or if this sounds like only a temporary solution, please let me know.

Thanks for reading, and thinking about my post.

SOURCE: Control panel lights blink and beep, freezer fan cycles

The column between the doors being warm usually indicates that the compressor is running properly but the condenser fan at the bottom rear that cools the condenser and compressor is not running. Remove the cover from the back of the machine and verify this fan is running. It could have stuck from sitting for a period of time or something has gotten stuck in the blade during the move.
I am interested in what the fan inside the freezer is doing. You say 3-4 second pattern, is it running a few seconds then off a few seconds?
Please post back with the exact model number from the decal inside the fridge and I will look it up and see what I can come up with.

SOURCE: ice maker not working

then you either after doing this have a water to the ice maker problem, or an ice maker issue
go to the water valve and disconnect the small plastic line at the water valve and with a cheater cord connect it to the water valve, naturaly remove the factory connector at the water valve first and plug your cheater cord into the ac if you get water out of the valve the valve is good if you do not the valve is bad

if you get water out of the valve then you have a problem in the ice maker IF the line to the ice maker is clear and no obstructions

If the car overheats also, replace thermostat.Could be heater core needs to be replaced, Any water on passenger side floor?, or smell of coolant?or are windows misty on inside of car?when you slide control from cool to heat it is supposed to close a door that lets in cold air, make sure thats working, usually you can hear it shut. lastly, check water pump. You do have enough coolant in system right?

I'm willing to bet a relay burned up. You likely have your tstat set to auto changeover, meaning it automatically goes from heat to cool to maintain desired set points??

It's not cooling. Last night it was left partially

If there was any humidity in the air the evaporator coils may be frosted up behind the panel. This would block the air flow and cause poor cooling.
If you can clean it out, unplug it, leave doors open and let it defrost on it's own for 24 hours.
Then plug it in and check it again.

If your furnace has a filter or fan compartment door, be sure it closed tightly and that the filter is installed correctly - there could be an interlock switch that is preventing the thermostat from operating. Also, if you haven't already turned off the power to the furnace, do that, wait a minute and then turn it back on.

Obviously, make sure the thermostat is on, is set to heat and calling.

Verify 24 volts at the low voltage transformer inside the air handler. If it is OK, jump out the red/green and yellow thermostat wires. If everything comes on, replace the thermostat.

Dear it depends upon the temperature settled, but i think that the problem is with the gas leakage in your freezer, thats why it cooling is geting week, so , it is better to call a mechanic to check it properly.
