Just a little something ive learned. look closely at the drain hose behind the washer. it may be clogged with lint, also were the hose drains into your house drain should not be airtight. if it is ,this may be the problem. If neither of these things apply , there is a pump that may need replacing and a sensor(not sure were this is). if your not tech savy you may need some help locating these two things. there should be a wiring diagram behind the control panel were the wires are, that may help. i think a person with a little knowledge can replace anything but the bearings. hopefully this helps.

Washer is filling up with water while the door is open

If it is filling with cold water, the cold water inlet valve may be stuck open. Try unplugging the washer. If it still fills the valve is stuck open.

I have the LG wm2487h*ma front load washer. My washer is filling up with water when not in use. When I wash a load, the water does not go in the washer. Have opened the door thinking the wash cycle is done...

The problem would appear to be the water inlet solenoid valve.
The valve is not operating correctly for some reason allowing water into the machine even when switched off

Washer filling with water when washer is not being used.

You have leaking solenoid water valves. You can shut off the faucets when unused to circumvent replacement of the solenoid valves, but the leakage is repaired by replacement of the valves. Hope this helps!

Try the valves inside the back where the water hoses connect to the machine they should default to the closed position when water is not required

Washer is filling up with to much water...

possible fill valve is sticking open when filling after starting washer disconnect power and listen to see if water is still running in if so replace fill valve.. if water stops possible water level switch or small hose to switch plugged ..drain washer remove screws on each side of door frame front will pull off...small hose on some models was attached to pump housing and would become plugged with lint ckd for restriction in hose from bottom to top remove screws in console to acess other end attached to pressure switch
