Question about Arris SURFboard SB5120 Modem
I have a Motorola SB5120 Surfboard modem that I got from Comcast. I just bought a Netgear Wireless-G Router WGR614v9 to connect my laptop wirelessly so I don't have to use the Ethernet cable anymore. I have internet when I begin installing the router and my modem works great. Then the instructions tell me to unplug the power source of the modem and hook up the modem to the router with the Ethernet cord. When I re-plug the powersource into the modem, only the Power light and the PC/Activity light comes on. I have no internet connection what so ever. In order for me just to get internet straight from my modem without the router, I have to unplug the power cord again from my modem and use the Comcast CD to reset all of my settings to the default settings. There's no powercycle or reset button on my modem and I wait at least 2 min before plugging in. I don't know what's wrong!
