Question about RCA ION-ITTUSB05 Turntable

Turntable does not rotate when switched 'on'.

Direct drive turntable does not rotate. Turn power switch on and unit comes to life. Turn the 'self-return' lever/switch to 'on' for the record deck to start rotating but turntable does not rotate. Manually turning of the turntable engages the pick-up arm so mechanical link is OK there. Direct drive turntable does not rotate

Throw it from a second story window then smash it with a sledgehammer. That's what I plan to do with mine.

Modern USB TT's are not build well compared to old turntables. Honestly it sounds like it would have to be internally repaired by a tech or replaced. This model is a pretty cheap one so you might be better off getting another USB TT or if you don't mind a little more hookup work, an older turntable off ebay and a preamp will often be much more reliable if you plan to keep a TT for the long haul.

SOURCE: Turntable does not rotate when switched 'on'.

K, I'm not familiar with that particular stereo unit but there were a lot of stereos from years gone past that used a turntable made by BSR. When you activate the switch to start the turntable listen closely to the record platter for a hum or possibly the sound of a motor turning (they're quite quiet). Is the switch lever you pull rectangular made of black plastic, you pull it towards you one click to start the record and pull it one step further (spring loaded) to make the tone arm lift from the record automatically? Just want to make sure I'm talking about the right turntable before we continue.

Turntable doesn't turn

Most turntable motors are under 12 volts. What you can do to test it is remove it and attach a 9volt (PP9) battery to it. If that doesn't turn it then the motor has gone. If it does, either the power isn't getting to the motor or there's a faulty switch somewhere.
This solution is no good for direct drive turntables, but most of them don't use belts.

Aiwa AP-2600 Direct Drive Turntable - platter not rotating

if the platter is removable by you and easily, might need just a little cleaning and lube at the center . the platter is the top rotating plate that you were pushing to get started.simply pulls out around a center key. check with local service shops how much they would charge for this kind of cleaning and lubing. $25.00 might be a good price to allow a decision, whether to buy a new.

No power when i turn on my mk3 turntable

Check the internal fuses. There are two. You have to strip the unit down to get to them.

Direct drive turntable will not rotate

If it does not rotate, more than likely the belt has either come off, or is broken. Lift up the turntable platter, and you'll see what the issue could be. The platter just lifts right up.

Power Issues or Drive Issues??

First and foremost, check to see that your turntable is set to the correct voltage setting for your area.

Remove your slipmat, as well as any rubber mat you might have on the unit. You want to expose the metal turntable platter. On the platter you'll see 2 holes on opposite ends. Rotate the platter to the 9 o'clock position. You'll see a voltage switch - 115V / 220V - make sure it's set to your country's setting:

U.S. / Japan / Canada: 110-115V
EUROPE: 220V

IF, you do not see this option on your turntable, then you do not have a Dual Voltage turntable. Now your talking about damage to the drive system. Which is comprised of various circuits, of which anyone of them could be bad. At this point, you'll have to take it to a reputable service center to have it diagnosed.

Unfortunately, it does sound like a drive issue. Just so you know, these units are direct drive, so there is no physical motor. It's just a bunch of various circuits which drive the unit, and if any one of them go bad, it will affect your turntable speed. You will need to have this looked at by a service technician to determine which circuit is faulty.
