Interference between my router and bluetooth headset

I just got a new bluetooth (insignia ns-bthdp) headset to use with my pc and ps3. After trying to play my ps3 online on a wifi connection i realized it was interfering with my wifi connection (a linksys 802.11b wireless router 2.4 gig band.) What can i do to solve the interference issue?

Hey how do you up a 2.4/5 ghz dual band router up to 5ghz? I just bought this and my ps3 is still laggy.

You need to beware that 5Ghz may not be supported by your PS3, as this is not a wireless standard.

Wireless Standards are a,b,g & n

You probably should either relocated the router so its not obstructed by brick walls or metal objects.
Otherwise you can try move the PS3.

We purchased two Acer netbooks in the same household in bedrooms across the hall in the same house. We purchased a linksys -cisco wireless n home router. Sometimes one gets a signal and the other...

Often times something unseen can be blocking the signal, such as heavy material (brick walls or bathroom piping). Try moving around the room and seeing if the signal is still poor.

Bluetooth adaptor disabled wireless internet connection

There are many things that can go wrong with a wireless connection, the main one is interference, many different objects and interfer with a wirless network, if you have a wireless g one then that takes away most of the possible interferences like the microwave, but bluetooth is a major interference, the only to ways of fixing this is to A. get rid of your bluetooth or B. replace your wireless g with a wireless g and n, g and n will ellimanate almost all interferences your current router can sell for a good amount(if you can prove its new and working i suggest you place it back in the box with manual and all) and by a g and n router how that works is it sends out 2 internet signals one g the other n and if one fails like your g then the n will kick in and run most of the internet but again you would have to get a new g and n router and get new wireless g and n software...or you could just not use your bluetooth.

Belkin router gets me kicked off internet after 2-4 days.

It's probably temporary interference between the router and your computer.
1. Regrigerator, metal filecabinet, too many walls in between, etc.
2. Also, the router is using the same frequency (2.4GHz) as:
Microwave oven, cordless phone (not cell phone), Bluetooth headset
3. Move the router if you can to a higher location, and change the direction of the antennas (point the antennas in-line with the direction of the laptop).
4. If you obtain a different router, get one that uses "N" wireless, even tho your laptop uses "G", the "N" router can get around interference.
You do not have to change your "G" laptop to "N".

Connection lasts about 5 minutes

Basically if you do a connection test on the ps3 and it comes back as NAT3 then you will have problems. You need to forward some of the ports of your modem to get to NAT2. You will need to assign static ip addresses to your PS3s so that you can set up port forwarding
You may have interference from a nearby cordless phone (keep these away from router), could be interference from neighbor, try changing channel you use on wireless router.
Some people have reported success just by turning off SSID broadcast in the wireless router.

Hooking up wireless router to ps3 to get internet thru TV

i believe what you mean is your connection to your ps3 not on your tv

actually i think ps3 has a built in wireless adapter unlike xbox360

things to remember:

-make sure that you use compatible routers

-distance of wireless router from ps3 may affect the signal of internet

-actually, some devices like microwave or chordless phone may also interfere with youre connection

-if you are using a direct modem connection, you may need to call your isp to check if the firmware of your modem is up to date

-there is more to life than games so try to do some sports if you are not able to connect ^_^

hope it helps
