My 24 in. SHY56A05 Stainless Steel Built-In Dishwasher also when the on/off button is on the unit pumps constantly even with out the door being closed. There is no water in the bottom

Pump continues to run when door opens. I have very methodically replaced the on/off switch, the door latch, and the very expensive electronics unit...and it initially fixed the problem. Now, it is happening again. Could the wiring harness be at fault?

Motor runs with door open. No water in pan.

Sounds to me like there may be water in the moisture sensor. Your dishwasher is probably leaking and the noise you hear is the drain pump activated.

Why does The pump runs continuously even with the door open?

Good Afternoon Martin,

I see that you are having trouble with the pump continuously running on your Electrolux dishwasher, model number ESL6114. From this model number, I am showing that this is a European model and questions would need to be directed to the manufacturer in that specific country. I could possibly find a number for you if I can kindly give me the country you live in or the country where your dishwasher was manufactured or purchased. Looking forward to hearing from you.

-Best Regards-

Siemens Dishwasher Fault

there is a water level sensor in the bottom of the machine if this is faulty and stays on, this will indicate to the pump there is water still in the machine. I would check this sensor it might be blocked with debris and has blocked in the closed position. that woudl be the best start for this issue.

i hope this was useful.

Ldf6920st LG dishwasher. Pump runs continuously.

Continuous run of DW "drain pump" is common problem, with simple solution, and without "pulling" the DW!

Because the problem is likely a "stuck float riser assembly", a mechanical "glitch", from crud build up, I recommend trying one "might get lucky fix" first.

Look up above the door and remove (usually two) screws holding two metal "tabs" to bottom of wood counter. This should allow you to "rock" the unit a little. This might allow the float assembly to operate.

A. You have removed and cleaned the screens to the pump inlet and have manually added hot water which the pump removes but the pump just continues to run, even when you open the door? You should still be able to use controls to shut unit off. If not, you should be able to turn DW off at circuit breaker panel. Find and open the breaker any how, because "I'm sending you in!"

There are two sheet metal "plates" about 4 inches high, 24 inches wide below the door on Bosch (and others) dish washers. Remove both, usually they can just be carefully removed.

Lay with face on floor and use flashlight to look "up and into" the left bottom side of the DW. About a foot into the bottom left side of the unit look for a red or orange (usually) plastic rod about the size of a pencil rising vertically out of a thin plastic "tank". This is a "sump" of some sort (???) and the bottom of the rod is a "float". The top of the "pencil" activates a micro switch. Junk in "tank" or on micro switch stops rise of the rod which keeps pump running.

Carefully, manually lift the orange rod with a long wooden spoon. Several times. You should hear the micro switch click. Don't be sticking screwdrivers or anything metal in there. Even with the power off.

Turn breaker back on. This may solve most common problem in first five years for many brands of dish washers.

Good luck.

Bosch SHU runs even when the door is open, what do i need?

Hi Jeffrey,

This depends what you mean by "runs". If the dishwasher continues with a wash cycle - i.e. circulating water - with the door open, the simple answer is that you have a defective door microswitch.

However, I suspect what you perceive to be the dishwasher running, is actually the drain pump running continuously. This happens when the anti-flood protection system has been activated and continues even when the door is opened. The simplest way to check is to open the door (while it's "running") and pour some water into the tub. If the water drains away immediately, this shows the drain pump is running and the anti-flood protection has been activated.

This may be due to water having leaked into the base of the dishwasher, but it could be as simple as a stuck or defective float-switch.

Please try the simple test above then post back for further assistance. If you're planning to investigate or repair this yourself, you're going to need a Torx T20 screwdriver and a multi-meter would be useful as well.

I have a Bosh Logic dishwasher SGS65L12GB/04 The other day it got to 1 min left and would not stop pumping out water and continued even with the door open. After 5 mins playing around it started working...

Hi Jonathan,

Welcome to FixYa.

Your float may have got stuck or it's possible that you have water leaking into the bottom of the washer. In the bottom of the wash compartment, next to the drain you will find a plastic dome/mushroom (the float). You might need to rotate the bottom spray arm to see it.

Turn the washer on so that the pump starts to run, open the door and push down on the float. This should stop the pump running. When you let go of the float, if it rises back up on its own, then it's almost certain that you have water in the bottom of the washer. If this is the case please post back for further assistance. If the float stays down, then it may have simply got stuck.

Please try this simple test and post back with the results.

Regards,
BElectric

I have a similar problem to another person. The drain on the dish drawer was blocked. The unit now shows an F1 error code ( flood?) and the pump runs continuously even after I've unblocked everything. I've...

the flood sensor on this unit is a PC board in the base, so you would need to remove the lower drawer and dry it out under there. If the base is dry and you still have the error, you can take a look at that sensor and clean any corrosion/minerals off. Generally cleaning it doesnt work and that little board needs replacement, but you may get lucky.

Drain pump won't turn off

Hi,

The reason the drain pump continously runs is because it is trying to remove any water too avoid any further flood as there is a flood in the base of the unit which activates the float switch and constantly activates the drain pump until the water has gone. Isolate the unit at the power switch and remove the bottom panel under the door panel. Dry up the water as best possible with a towel. Run the unit again and check for any water leaks. You may just have over sudded the unit with too much detergent. Only use 2 teaspoons of powder. To start with while testing don't use any detergent. Good luck

Hope this helps.

Dishwasher pump keeps running

This is caused by a water leak into the base pan,it will trigger the anti flood and the machine will continously drain out even with the door open, you need to establish what is leaking,if you leave the appliance standing for a few days it will start again as the water will evaporate however if the fault returns you will definetly have aleak on the appliance which will require further investigation.

yes it should run continuosly,(at least untill the water level drops.) a more common instance withthis machine is that the drain line is blocked/restricted, or somethingis ninthe pump housing. it is even possible hat the pump impeller has dislodged from the housing and although it sounds as if its "pumping" its moving no water..usually in htis case your able to open the filter assembly and "pushback on hte impeller(normal impeller will not ,ove back" however if it was dislodged it will have foward play.i would even blow out the drain hose form the pump to the drain standpipe, just in case.
F02 is def a long pump out time and no ther ewill be no high speed spin with water in unit(or if it thinks thers water in unit)
