What's wrong with my Beocentre?

If the sound is affected on all systems then yes something has gone inside. Try a pair of headphones, if the sound is still bad, then either the pre-amp has failed or the power amp.

No sound comes out of the system/speakers on my FW-C255/37

There is a problem with the headphone jack or there is a audio output problem, get some electronic contact cleaner attach straw and spray inside the jack, push the headphone jack in and out quickly and spray again and repeat, this should clean the contact points, if no sound, audio output should be suspect.

How to record a cassette tape to a cd

Your question is posted under a "CD Shelf System" heading. If you really have one of these, the answer is "you can't". The CD player is a player only, not a recorder.

On the other hand, if what you're asking is how to transfer cassette tapes to CD using a computer, there are a couple of ways. One is to connect a cassette player (boom box, component system cassette deck, etc.) to the line-in jack of your computer's sound card. Download and install Audacity, which is free software for recording and editing sound. Then you can record the sound from your cassettes as you play them into the computer.

Another option, If you want to be fancy and spend a little money, is to buy a USB cassette deck. It automatically converts the cassette audio to digital and sends it to your computer over a USB cable. Recording software is supplied (sometimes the Audacity program mentioned before). Several companies make them. Here's one from a company called ION that some friends of mine have, and it seems to work well for them. They've been converting a lot of tapes of family members, and Audacity has been good for cleaning up tape hiss and enhancing the sound.

Either way, once you have the sound in your computer and processed to your liking, you just need to burn it to a CD using whatever burning software you have. (I use CDBurnerXP. It's free, easy to use, and does everything needed for normal CD and DVD burning.)

Hello I own an mpk 49 keyboard now I'm new at this and I can't figure out if it's internal or external sound the mpk49 gives off. Long story short how do I get the sound out of the keyboard do I have to...

You could look in the manual on Page 5 for connections to external equipment...

Connect a USB cable from your computer to the MPK49. The unit will be powered through the USB connection. Alternatively, if you do not wish to use a computer in your setup or if you wish
to power the MPK49 externally, please plug in a 6V-1A DC power adapter.
2. If you would like to use an external sound module, connect a 5-pin MIDI cable from the MIDI OUT of the MPK49 to the MIDI IN of the external device.
3. If you would like to use another MIDI controller in your setup, connect a 5-pin MIDI cable from the MIDI OUT of the controller to the MIDI IN of the MPK49.

On Page 13 the first of the FAQ's is:
Question: Does the MPK49 have internal sounds?
Answer: No. The MPK49 is a MIDI-controller, which means that it does not contain any sounds inside but is instead used
to control external sound devices, such as hardware and software synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines.

If you lack the manual you can go to retrevo.com and download it for free after you register.

Scratchy radio volume dial

Use an electronic contact cleaner. You need to shoot it inside the pot through the openings. Then rotate many times. This will remove oxidation on the contacts inside. If you don't use a contact cleaner, turn of f the radio and rotate many times the potentiomer left-right-left-right ...When you turn it on again, you will see the scratcy sound will be reduced but it will come back eventually. The more often you rotate, the less noise it will make. This is a very common problem, nothing to worry about.

Record LPs into desktop computer.

If you have an line level audio output on the shelf unit, you can as then the other end would connect up to your input to the sound card, if there is only a mic. input and no line input you can get whats called an antenuator, or get another audio sound card for the computer with a line level input jack. Good Luck
