This morning when I turned on my iPod there was a long horizontal line from the left to the right side. There is only one and I have dropped my iPod before, but not recently. It is a 120 GB iPod Video Classic. I have reset once before a few weeks ago because the music wouldn't play. I want to know if I can fix it by resetting it.
I have a lot of white lines that cover half of my screen , everything else is normal ...it happened while i was charging it overnight.. i have no clue what went wrong.
I got the black horizontal lines across my 80 gig ipod classic video .. and i think this happened after i came back from the gym .. after readin at my multiple places it seems this is due to the water / moisture / likes on the display screen. The other posts suggested that this should go away as the water dries up, i am going to put my pod on charge to generate some heat and remove moisture .. seems leaving it like that is a solution for that ...

Same here ... it's a dead pixel problem. Get it replaced under warranty.
my ipod is very well cared for, and today a white line has appeared running through the screen from left to right across the centre. Any ideas?

a pair of horizontal white lines appeared suddenly on my year old 80G classic. It is always ina case and hasn't been dropped. Could htis be a defect that is realized at th eone year mark?
NOT dead pixels as they would appear black not lit white! Mine is the same ARRRRGGGHHH
I now have two white lines that have appeared on my screen. I bought my ipod in October so I think it's out of the warrenty time which really blows... if that many people are having issues with the ipod classic, you think they'd accept any ipod classic with this issue. Come on Apple.... be the good comapny we all know you want to be!!

same here. it's been sitting by the ipod dock/speaker so never dropped. whatz up with that? tried restart and reformat and re-everything but it's still there.
Yea yesterday I disconnected my Ipod classic 80GB and awhile later when look at the screen and realize that for some reason the display has two white lines (below the middle) on the screen. I was surprise to see that and look around the ipod for scratches, but there is none, as its never fell, and it still looks new, even the back of the ipod is like new, I even have a rubber cover to keep it clean. I have this IPOD about a year or slightly more, I never had a trouble with it before, but I'm troubled to see so many other people with the same problem today! I tried updates, blanking the ipod, reset, the lot and the two white lines are still there! If anyone has any suggestions, please post? It sounds like an Apple IPOD Classic Bug.
