This morning when I turned on my iPod there was a long horizontal line from the left to the right side. There is only one and I have dropped my iPod before, but not recently. It is a 120 GB iPod Video Classic. I have reset once before a few weeks ago because the music wouldn't play. I want to know if I can fix it by resetting it.
I got the black horizontal lines across my 80 gig ipod classic video .. and i think this happened after i came back from the gym .. after readin at my multiple places it seems this is due to the water / moisture / likes on the display screen. The other posts suggested that this should go away as the water dries up, i am going to put my pod on charge to generate some heat and remove moisture .. seems leaving it like that is a solution for that ...

hi if only a horizontal line across with no video anymore, you have bad either vertical ic or no dc supply b+( vertical ic ) or no output dc coming from the ic. if it is not totally a horizontal white line and you can see a video you must check leak or bulged capacitors at the vertical section near the vertical ic. hope this can help good luck.
hi, As you mentioned its sounds like the X buffer (Right and left) of your tv is faulty. There are two boards in your tv for driving the X plane of the plasma panel. Normally you can find these board on the top or bottom portion of the TV. . Its part numbers are Right buffer board is 6870QSC107A 6871QRH073A and Left buffer board i EAX35683901 EBR35855501. Before purchasing the boards identify which board is faulty. That you can find easily. Check which portion of the screen have vertical line in right or left side of the panel. The board for that side is faulty. You can find these boards on the following link.
THAT THIN WHITE LINE IS YOUR HORIZONTAL LINE MEANING YOU ONLY HAVE THAT. THE GOO NEWS IS YOU HAVE HIGH VOLTAGE MEANING YOU ONLY NEED VERTICAL TO FIX IT.. I WOULD REPLACE THE VERTICAL TRANSISTOR OR CHECK FOR ANY BURNED RESISTORS ON THE VERTICAL SIDE
It sounds like a vertical deflection problem. You mentioned you had a white HORIZONTAL LINE in the middle of the screen. If this line runs from left to right across the screen it's in Verticla deflection. If it runs from top to bottom, it's in Horizontal deflection. I am assuming the problem is a Vertical deflaecion problem. The repairs necessary are most likley to replace the vertical capacitors or the verticla deflection chip.

Sounds like the green is out of focus.
If the focus control for the green does not control it enough to make the width the same as the red, then, the lens on top of the green can be adjusted to focus that tube.
On the lens, there is a wing nut on a screw to loosen it and move the lens left or right a bit to help with the focus.
Hope this helps.
