Question about Panasonic DVD-CV50 Multi-disc DVD Player

DVD remote control doesn't work while LCD TV is on

I have a Panasonic DVD player (model # DVD-CV50) which I got 8 years ago. The remote control for the DVD player worked perfectly fine with my old television, which was a 20" CRT TV. The TV was on a wooden stand with wooden shelves. My TV broke and I upgraded to a 42" LCD TV. I bought a new TV stand too. The new TV stand that I bought is a metal TV stand with glass shelves. The remote control for the DVD player works perfectly fine when the LCD TV is off. You can turn on the DVD player, start, stop, pause, etc. a DVD that is in the player. When the LCD TV is turned on, the remote control for the DVD player will not function. The DVD player will continue to operate manually, put the remote control can't be used. Can anybody help me to be able to use the remote control for my DVD player while my LCD TV is on? Please let me know. Thank you!

The batteries were recently replaced in the remote control for the Panasonic DVD player. The remote control is the remote control that came with the DVD player. There is a number on the fron of the remote control. The number is RAK-DV965WK. I hope that this helps. Thank you!

Here are the resuslts of the solution provided by praky16:

I turned on my tv first. I then removed all the batteries from the Panasonic DVD player remote control, pressed each button on the remote control twice, then reinserted the batteries in the remote control. I then tried to turn on the DVD player using the remote control and nothing happened. Since my remote control doesn't have a volume or TV/DVD button, I couldn't press the power, volume, and the TV/DVD buttons together. I checked the battery compartment of the remote contol and I couldn't find a small three position slide switch, so I couldn't slide it.

I am still having my problem. Please help! Thank you!

That is not a remote problem, that means that the TV is creating interference that prevents the IR sensor on the DVD from working correctly.

The IR circuit on the DVD is the sensor that detects the remote control signal.

The only thing you can do is moving the DVD unit apart from TV.

If that does not work , there is no way of using this two devices together, I have seen this problem once, and the only solution we could get was replacing the DVD unit.

Just a suggestion:
Have you called and tried to get the manufacturer to replace it? Explaining all the attempted fixes?

They may send you a new remote or request to have you mail your remote to them.

There are known issues with LCD TV interfering with remote control signals. This frequently happens with repeaters especially, which are often placed close to the TV when the units are hidden somewhere in a cabinet or enclosure. The issue is that the TV is continually emitting infra red, especially at start up, basically "blinding" the IR sensor on your DVD player.

Is your DVD player close to the TV and/or is there a shelf of any description between them?

In any case, there should be a solution, just by changing the placement of your DVD player in relation to the TV, especially if there is some form of solid barrier, such as a shelf, to stop the IR from the TV reaching the DVD player.

Hi

The issue is that the TV is continually emitting infra red, especially at start up, basically "blinding" the IR sensor on your DVD player.

Since your shelves are glass, the interference is happening for the signal to the dvd player. Try putting a few layers of paper or a cloth layer under the tv on the shelf that it is on to shield it from the player. If the remote starts working, just get a new stand without the glass shelves or place the dvd player farther away

Let me know how this works out for you

Hi..i would tell now how to do a remote reset (remove batteries and push all the buttons twice, reinsert batteries) and the emitter was now working.... However, the remote would still not control the base unit. And now u do the remote base code reset (push power, volume and TV/DVD buttons together) but if this doesnt help u means then checked the command code switch. This is a small three position slide switch located in the battery compartment on the remote slid the switch back and forth several times returning to the default number one setting where it was before. Do not change anything on the base unit ur remote will start working now when u on ur tv.....

thank u!!!

I need a remote control for a mintek 32 inch flat panel tv with built in dvd.the remote control is a RC -600. where can I find one?

It's tough trying to find OEM (manufacturer's) remotes. You could purchase a universal remote and program it to your set. Mintek doesn't have many codes and I believe 259 should do it. Good luck :)

There is no code for polaroid tv. This is because your equipment may use a code that is not provided with this remote control. In this case, please use the equipment's own remote control

My Onkyo DR90 DVD Remote Will Not Operate Components

Your Onkyo DR90 DVD Receiver remote control does not have universal remote functions, and cannot be (easily) programmed to control a Panasonic DMR ES15. Your DR90 remote does have a limited learning function, but it is designed to learn the codes from your TV's remote to control the TV. Only the following buttons are programmable by the TV Learning function:

I hope that helps.

Using remote control on philips tv

Unfortunately, you can't.
The remote controller does have buttons on it to adjust a TV but these will only work with a Panasonic TV. Because your Phillips control codes are different, and the remote controller does not allow its send code to be adjusted, they won't talk to each other. The only thing you can do is get a universal remote and program it for both, or buy a Panasonic TV.

Remote control has stopped working

If you have replaced the batteries with KNOWN GOOD ones, observed the proper polarity when re-installing the batteries AND made sure the remote is in DVD "mode" (if it is a multi-remote) when trying to use it, the remote is bad. Replace the remote.

Remote doesn't work for DVD Recorder

It is now working. The DVD is below a Panasonic TV. We blocked the tv remote sensor and the DVD remote started working. We have unblocked the tv sensor and the dvd remote is still working. I'm not sure what was wrong or how exactly we fixed it.
