Hello, I can assume from your description and this "click" sound that you are facing an HDD problem. I would suggest downloading Hiren's BootCD from this link. Burn the content on a disk and boot up from it. Then start some of the HDD tests like HDD Regenerator and examine the results.I hope this helps!
try it without the battery on the laptop. if it boots and stays on, put the battery back on and see what happens. If the problem persists, replace the battery. Acer will replace it free if you are still in warranty
I assume there is something wrong with power supply...Get an electric meter and test the adapter for dc output..I think the bit that connect to the laptop may be worn out and hence losing connection..Try to play with the adapter end when connecting to the laptop and hold on firmly on it and watched if any light comes on.If it stays for more than 2 sec the you know it is faulty..That is an alternate option is you don't have a meter..
all the laptops on the world have warm problem. if you use your notebook dirty place your fan could get dirty and not working well and not makes cool anymore. in warm system can shut down itself. it is often does. if you open your laptop back case you will see the fan. there are olny 4 screw. clean the fan and screw again. try it.
sorry for my enghlish.
GO INTO THE THE PROGRAM AND DELETE ALL PROGRAM THAT ARE BOUNDLED IN THE PACKAGE AND REMOVE THEM UNTIL YOU RESOLVE THE ISSUES. IT MAY BE TAKING MORE POWER OR JUICE TO RUN THE ONE PROGRAM FOR YOUR CPU TO HANDLE ALL THE WORK
DID YOU NOTICE A DROP IN THE SYSTEMS PERFORMANCE AFTER INSTALLING THIS PROGRAM.
Most likely it is overheating. The cpu has a thermal monitoring device implanted in it that when it gets too hot it turns off the system so that the cpu does not fry. You have to make sure the vents are unobstructed & that while in use the laptop is on a smooth surface. You can upgrade the fan if you wish or purchase a laptop cooling pad that sits underneath the unit while in use. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my solution. Thanks.
Mine did the same thing -- noticed the fan wasn't running at all during bootup when the shutdown problem was occurring. Tapping the bottom ofthe case near the fan got the fan running and it booted fine after that. It happened twice in about a year's time and both times this fix worked. I'll probably take it apart soon and clean out the fan.
