Mike, there is another solution: if you subscribe for comcast cable, they will retrieve the code for you, without you leaving your place.their remotes are learning and can be programmed remotely via you cable box. If you don't have a valid subscription, there is a problem. You might need to get universal remote, what supports this brand. good luck, Alex's TV Service, Philadelphia,Pa, 215-806-5980.
I crushed my AKAI remote a week after I got it and I purchased a Logitech Harmony remote. It's kind of expensive (100.00) but you install the software in your computer and connect the remote to your computer. A screen comes up and you can type in an unlimited number of devices. All you do is put in the brand and model number and the computer will program the remote for that device. I have at least 10 different devices programmed into mine and works perfectly. Actually the price isn't bad because they wanted 85.00 to replace the remote just for the TV.
All my manuals say 0044 is the correct code, it did not work on like 4
different universal remotes, one of the manuals also listed 0060. Nope
did not work either. Don't they actually pay somebody to check this
****? Here's the one that I got to work after COUNTLESS hours! 0564,
good luck I know it'll work on a time warner universal model # 1056B01
( With NO SUPPORT FROM TIME WARNER ******* ********!) They actually
told me to buy a new tv?! I sent them a care package of my "dog's ****
in a box" c/o customer support :) Nope I'm not kidding, I even gave
them my return address.
I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my
comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3
universal remotes later I found my solution...a radio shack
universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your
xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad
if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the Akai
was 11676. Take care...
