Video portion of DVD won't show up on monitor/TV; audio works

Already checked all cable connections. Problem started when i-pod dock was connected. Turned i-pod dock off. DVD functioning but not able to get video to TV. Denon AVR is not sending video to the TV. Went through System Setup/2.In and have it set to OPT1 DVD.

My remote will not communicate with the i pod dock. The remote is sending a signal, (checked by viewing with a digital camera) but the dock will not respond. The battery is also fine

How do I connect the wireing

The VCR portion is connected to yhe TV via yellow-end cable(video) from "video out" to TVs "video in" and red and white-end cables(audio) from "audio out" to TVs "audio in". The DVD plays via HDMI cable from "HDMI out" to TVs HDMI in. S-video cable can be used if no HDMI terminal is available on TV. External tuner in (cable TV, Satellite) is connected to the video and audio in terminals or better yet if S-video out is available on the tuner box.

V ipod mode in Samsung HT-Z420 home theater system not working

Plug a yellow video cable into the TV (IN) and the Sound system (Out) then go onto AV1 on the TV or which ever port you plugged the cable into and play a movie and u can see it. A menu doesnt come up like the A ipod funtion so it comes up no signal until u play an actual movie on the ipod. If u dont have a yellow video cable i think u can use the white or red audio ones.

Cant hook dvd/vcr to my cable box the manual says I need a extern

The cable box IS an external tuner.  You should connect the video output (either S video, HDMI, or component video) of the cable box to the video input of the DVD.  Then connect the audio output of the cable box to the audio input of the DVD via stereo RCA cables.  If your tv monitor has multiple inputs (ie: video 1, 2, and 3...) connect the video and audio output of the DVD to your tv monitor using an alternate video input (if cable box goes into your tv thru video 1, connect the DVD to video 2).  If your cable box only has one output, or your tv has only one input, then just connect your cable box to the DVD as above, and connect the DVD to your tv.

Problems establishing audio output from DVD RW to TV

If you own a Digital Video Recorder, such as TiVo, or a DVR from a Cable or Satellite provider, then you know you can record to the device's hard drive to view TV shows at a later time, much like the old VCR. However, saving those TV shows becomes difficult as the Hard Drive starts to fill up. The answer to saving your shows is to record them to DVD! This can be accomplished easily by hooking up a DVD Recorder to your DVR
Here's How:
  1. 1)record a TV show on your DVR that you want to save to DVD!
  2. 2)Turn on the DVR, DVD Recorder and the TV that the DVD Recorder is connected to. In my case, I have my Samsung DVD Recorder (no hard drive) hooked up to my TV via an RCA Audio/Video cable from the rear outputs on the DVD Recorder to the rear RCA inputs on my TV. I use a seperate DVD Player for playing DVDs, but if you use your DVD Recorder as a player as well, use the best cable connections you can to connect to the TV. See the articleTypes of A/V Cables for more info.
  3. 3)Connect an S-Video or RCA video cable and composite stereo cables (red and white RCA plugs) from the DVR to the inputs on your DVD Recorder. If your TV has Component inputs, connect the Component Out from the DVD Recorder to the Component In on the TV, otherwise you can use S-Video or Composite. You will still need to use RCA audio with your video connection.
  4. 4)Change the input on your DVD Recorder to match the inputs you are using. Since I'm using the rear S-Video input, I change my input to "L1", which is the input for recording using the rear S-Video input. If I was recording using the front analog cables it would be "L2", the front Firewire input, "DV". The input select can typically be changed using the DVD Recorder remote.

I also have the same problem but now I think it's the type of I-Pod you use. Do you use the I-Pod 80 Gb video or the newer 160 Gb I-Pod with the cover flow etc. ? The documention of the HTD7001 says it's only support some I-Pods. I would know sure if I would have a type of Video I Pod wich is supported by the documentation
