If the hook is not spinning then it needs a gear job which will cost you anywhere from $150 to $250 depending on who you take it to. This machine has four plastic gears which should all be replaced, don't just replace the one that is stripped as the others will go bad soon since they are the same age.
You may be lucky in that something has only come loose, but if they are the original gears then most likely is that they need to be replaced.
Good luck!

Why stitches on top are great but bottom are loose and loopy?

Check your upper threading. Make sure it's between your tension discs. Remember loops on bottom, something is wrong with upper threading/tension. Loops on top something is wrong in the bobbin area (like the bobbin being in upside down or a loose bobbin tension spring)

start by rethreading the top thread with the presser foot UP.

Thread getting caught in bobbin area

If you are seeing the needle thread in loops and birdnests then its the needle thread you need to check. The main reason is it is not threaded through the takeup spring(the one that moves) This action is critical as it is how the thread is pulled up tight. Also make sure the needle thread is between the discs and that it has sufficient tension that you do not see it on the bottom of the material. Try this: Use two different color threads for needle and bobbin. If you see the needle color on the bottom then the needle thread is not tight enough (or in 5% of the cases the bobbin is too tight or hung up). Let me know how it does. Jay

Thread getting caught in machine underneath

Try rethreading the top of the machine making sure you get it thru the tension wheel correctly.. General rule of thumb.
If it loops on the bottom, the problem in on the top.. Loops on the top, problem is with the bobbin.

Looped bottom thread

Sorry I missed your problem, I have just signed up on here to help with problems like yours.
Thread looping underneath the cloth is a bobbin tension problem.
Folks in general are not aware that in addition to the top tension being set correctly so must the bobbin tension.
It is impossible to explain how to do this you need to be shown. However it should be explained how to do it in your manual.

Check your threading.
Berhaps your thread is not between the discs.
