This has happened to me quite frequently. I have replaced the fuse at least 8 times. You just take off the back of the t.v. and on the bottom you will see a small glass fuse. just pop it out and go to radio shack and get a pack of replacements. about 4 for 3 dollars.

It could be several different things wrong, need to know if transformer {you think} has a big heavy insulated red wire coming out of it going to the picture tube, if so; that is the high voltage transformer. You will need a schematic to check out some capacitors, and transistors....the three areas would be problems with capacitors in power supply, the B Plus Regulation circuit, and check for rings around joints in that and overall on the main board and any connector joints that attach other modules to it, or plug into it, as well as joints associated with all plugs from wiring harnesses as well. Just guessing, sounds like a power supply regulation problem, and or joints that are ringy, rings around them or cracked ones. Hope this helps. T.

Buzz When I plug the tv in I get a buzzing sound and the power button does not light up and there is no picture or sound.Could it be a tube?

quietlove,
I will guess you remember tube sets from our parents days !
They stopped being Mfr'd in 1972 !
Best solution for your set = replace horiz transformer and
transistor with RCA part # 's 257807 & 237470................T.

Won't work

It sounds like something in the high voltage (flyback) circuit failed. If any little thing shorts in these RCA's they will not start up. Stargazer

TV won't turn on

I received this solution:
"This was apparently caused by using replacement flybacks. Add a .001uf cap (102k@2kv) from RL03 (the side away from the FBT) to ground. This will shift the picture a little then compensate a little with parameter 15."

In my case, i used an other flyback the HR8934 from Diemen to get a more stable picture without blooming, and add a 440pF (two 220pF capacitor in parallel) instead of .001uf to eliminate the tearing lines.bfde541.jpgac61dec.jpgdda8fac.jpg.
