Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
I keept getting error messages during the wash cycles. Either flashes DL or F. Often cannot open the door when this happens.
To all that have posted under this request: You should always try to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU) before assuming you have a component failure on these front load washing machines. In many cases these error codes can be erroneous and resetting the CCU will correct the problem. To reset the CCU, the washer must remain unplugged for AT LEAST 30 minutes. This is verbatim from the manufacturers technical data sheet. If the error code reappears, then more than likely, you have a legitimate component malfunction.
"Fdl" is usually caused by a door latch failure (but in some circumstances be caused by a failed CCU). If the door latch fails to lock, the washer will not complete the cycle.
"F02" is usually caused by obstructions in the drain pump causing a slow drain. You must clean out the drain pump reservoir and check the impeller for debris.
NOTE: The later models of Maytag are manufactured by Whirlpool, using Whirlpool parts and electronics. The error codes and method of correcting them are the same.
I explain all these error codes under the "Tips and Tricks" section of my profile. If you cannot find what you are looking for there, please use the "Ask Me" feature and I will do my best to provide you with a solution.

In many models there is a "technicians only manual" under the top cover of the machine that lists solutions and explains all the error codes. You can get at the manual by undoing the screws on the top at the back of the washer, don't worry you can't mess anything up its really a pretty empty box once you look inside. The way I fixed my f02 and sud error messages was by undoing the three screws at the very bottom ofthe washer and removing the bottom panel (7mm quarter inch drive socket and 2 inch extension) there is a filter housing that looks cylindrical, unscrew that (there is a lot of water in there so watch out) and clean the filter, feel the drain line coming out of that filter and make sure it is clear, if not poke a wire hanger through to push all the debris out, reassemble the opposite of disassembley, run a load through and then repeat this procedure to make sure all the debris is out of the lines and this should fix the error messages.

Hello and welcome to FixYa
FDL is a door lock error and is caused due to an issue with the door lock when it is unable to lock/unlock. Please check the door lock mechanism/door switch assembly and replace the part that has gone bad so that the issue is resolved. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
