Question about Haier Dishwashers

5 Answers

I just purchased and installed an Haier ESD 210 dishwasher. Everything seems to work fine except the machine will not shut off. Also, after selecting the "wash program" the LED blinks continually during all cycles. It takes some effort to latch the door but it does lock. Can you help? Thank you. I hope the answer to my question is not "are you sure the dishwasher is level". This info is in the installation instructions that came with the dishwasher. Of course the dishwasher is level, I don't need to spend $17.95 for someone to read the installation manual for me. Can you guys help me or not? Let me re-post my question....

Can you guys provide some help with a cause and effect answer?? Look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible, thank you.

This can be caused by water temperature.
Please Make sure that the water supplied to the unit is 120 degrees or higher.
This can be checked on the hot water heater thermostat setting.

When the machine does not shut off, that is because the cycle cannot complete drain, and the timer does not reach the end of the cycle.

If you manually advance the timer and open the machine, you should get water at the bottom.

This means that either the drain system, the water level switch, or the timer control have a fault.

Check first the drain system, check lines, drain filter if present, and ensure drain pump is working.

Check that the floating switch is not broken or stuck.

If the drain system and water level switch are fine, then replace the timer control board.

You find replacement parts here.

    An additional thing, if you get "will not shut off. Also, after selecting the "wash program" the LED blinks continually during all cycles." that means that there is a problem, and as I explained probably parts to replace.

    If the machine is new the most likely , instead of drain pump, like on a used one, it is a factory defective control assembly.

    Being the machine new my suggestion is calling the number listed on the owner's manual to get support, servicing the machine by yourself may invalidate warranty.

    For details on what the problem can be, see my previous comment in your email.

Put some towels dowm and tip the dishwasher over to one side about 45 degrees, if water pours out of the base it means that the dishwasher is in "flood mode" and you have a leak into the base that will need resolving.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A couple of ideas:

  • check that no piece of plastic tape/wrapper/packing got lodged inside the door lock slot;
  • check the hinge and/or door lock tab. It may have been misaligned while in transit;
  • check that there are no leftover locking tiedown, tape or clamps. Some versions/models have such in place when unit is new to prevent excessive movement of certain parts when being delivered/transferred from one place to another;
  • check your wiring/breakers. The heater may not be getting power, the unit senses water temp is not as it should be and therefore "waits";
  • since new, call for warranty service or ask for a replacement.
Would appreciate any updates or developments. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

The inlet solenoid may be stuck. Or the screen in the inlet connection may be plugged.

Basically, the Haier is a piece of ****. Parts are not available and the phone-in service (if you can call it that) will keep you on hold endlessly. Do yourself a favor and get a better machine.

How long are the cycles supposed to take in the Haier HDW100WCT. We have just purchased a unit and the cycle never seems to stop

thanks but problem solved talking with a friend. One suggestion I would make though is that you include cycle times in minutes in future editions of your machine user manual

Dishwasher wan't fill with water

The water valve may look fine but the solenoid may not be opening to allow water in. You said that everything else works fine except no water supply to the dishwasher. This sounds like a bad soleniod valve. Check for continuity on the valve with an ohms meter after you start it. Be careful.

Haier buttons not working!

From previous experience, I would bet that the circuit board/ control panel is failing. The one I had leaked steam near the top of the unit and the condensation will work it's way into the top control panel. Bad design on Haier's part. The worst part about mine was there is no adjustment for the door. I ended up getting a refund on the unit and buying a very nice LG model. Good luck dealing with Haier. They will send A&E factory Service out and they are not very good. I would suggest getting rid of the Haier. (personal opinion)

Will not complete wash cycle

I had a similar problem, except I did not notice a burning smell. I would put my dishwasher on and it would stay on the wash cylce for ever. I had to manually turn the dial to the next cycle.

I had a repairman in and told him I thought it may be the thermostat (from everything I had read online). He dismissd my diagnosis and said it was the timer. He order the timer and came back 2 weeks later and replaced it. It did not solve the problem. He then ordered the thermostats (my Haier ESD102 has 2 of them) and came back 3 weeks later and installed them. That solved the problem!

Timer = $137 CAD (covered by warranty)
Thermostat 1 = $14 CAD
Thermostat 2 = $21 CAD
