Question about Troy Bilt Walk Behind Chipper/Shredder/Vacuum 205cc
I ran shredder and forgot to check oil. Ran out of oil and had small amount of smoke from oil part. Now the pull cord seems a little slack and the shredder will not start. Is the motor blown. Can I repair it. This shredder is just over a year old.

It takes good gas, good spark, and good air for a gasoline engine to run well. The next thing I would do is put a new air filter in it.

If a branch was already being chipped when it ran out of gas...you must clear the hopper of any chunks of wood in it. Pull the plug wire and use a metal pry bar to dislodge any pieces of wood. when the flywheel runs free, put the plug wire back on and the choke on. Try it now!!!

unscrew the nut on the bottom of the carburetor and remove the float bowl it must be emptied and cleaned , debree and water gets into the bowl and blocks of fuel flow reinstall the bowl and start, some carbs don't have a float bowl requiring you to remove the gas tank and carb which is a more involved cleaning.
