PSP Slim making click sounds when UMD is in

Everytime I put a UMD in the PSP, it makes a clicking sound. The small icon at the bottom-right shows but the game icon doesn't show or start.

I tried moving the silver lens area left to right - still the same problem!!

My warranty expired, so I cannot take it to Sony.

Help me please thanks

It could be a problem with the inside mechanisms of the UMD dock. Better make sure that the insides are clean and free of dirt or small particles.

Psp will not read the disk

umd drive mite be broken. if it makes te sound like it makes te sound like it wants to load the game and shows the loading icon at the bottom of te screen then it mite be your eye. could be danaged or dirty. but if it dosnt do anything when you put a game in then its your motherboard. best thing to do is replace your motherboard. buy a motherboard for your psp from ebay or something (or off your freinds), open up the case (find a tutorial on youtube, sorry cant acess those files rite now) and then unplug all the plugs and swap it out make sure it runs tho and that you didnt do anything wrong. open your psp case at your own risk tho.

Psp always read from umd, making it hang

Hi! I incounter this problem as well even without UMD its still loading and even I disable auto-start UMD still same so I tried reflashing the software but still same problem so I discover the solution before you turn-on your PSP try to open your UMD cover you'll see it will load faster then close again the cover once you see the battery and clock icon... The problem that causing this is the switch inside the UMD possible its stock-up or spoiled already!

Is this happening with every UMD? If so the laser has gone bad. Google tutorials on how to replace it or have it replaced.

Black Screen on PSP Slim

Hi,

Take out the battery of your PSP, wait 30 seconds and then reinsert it. Then start the PSP up without the charger in it. If the problem still occurs, try holding the brightness button (rectangle icon near select button) for 10 seconds. I hope this works for you.

Cant turn off my mic in my laptop

Double click on the little speaker icon on the Desktop toolbar at the bottom right of your screen. The volume control window will open. Click on options then properties. Next check the small round recording button. Now make sure he microphone box is checked then click ok. Now a window will open that will show your microphone recording level. Move the slider up about half way and make sure to check the small "Select" box near the bottom of the slider. Open up sound recorder or whatever application you are using and try to record. I hope this has been helpful.

Psp having problem reading umd.

Hi Goodhelper,

Check the UMD for any kind of foriegn obstruction. You can use a pencil with an eraser to psin the UMD manually. Do this to check to be sure the UMD is not scrubbing or sticking inside its case. Try a different UMD to see if its the UMD or the UMD drive inside your PSP.

If you find it is the PSP. Services listed with Fixya can repair your PSP. Click on "REpair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. In the next screen, Click on "Video Game Consoles". Pick a good PSP repair service.

is it a scratching scrapping noise?

as some UMD cases, as in the plastic thing around the disc colapse or come apart this stops the disc spinning properly.

Check the plastic on the UMD... click any sides together that may be loose / or make sure the case isnt pushing on the disc.

Also open the PSP, hold it upside, gently shake it & blow into it.

Put the UMD back in & try again.
