PS3 randomly mutes my TV, Mostly on DVDs

I just got a PS3 1 week ago. Its the 80g. I have it plugged into my 37" LG Scarlet that I got lik 9 months ago. Everything seems to be working great except that it keeps muting my tv randomly while watching dvds and rarely while gaming. I have it connected with HDMI cable. It tends to mute tv every 5-10 minutes when watching dvds. Have not tried a blueray dvd yet. The only other thing connected to my TV is my comcast digital box for cable. My tv is programed to work with the comcast box remote. Its not worst problem ever but quite annoying. Does anyone have any clue or has anyone heard of this problem before? I do have Best Buy warrainties on both. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have the same problem. My PS3 is connectted to my Denon receiver and it used to work perfectly but a couple of weeks ago it started to cut out the sound randomly first on a couple of DVD's and now on games. I mostly use it for DVD's and only have three games for it. It is really annoying, does anyone have any clues of what it might be.  Thanks

Your blu-ray laser is bad which is why it will still play regular dvds. Contact Sony to see if it is till under warranty.

PS3 PROBLEM

Maybe it isn't a problem with your ps3, but with the tv. Try resetting it, or asking help in the store you bought it.
Resetting a tv is mostly done by cutting of power for 15 - 30 minutes. Be sure to read the manual.

Ps3 not recognising ps3 games and movies

Sounds like it could be failure of the Blu-ray drive. A friend of mine had the same issue.

Contact Sony support and if it's under warranty they will fix it free of charge (here in Australia they do anyway).

Ps3 wont read discs

Just return your system or exchange it. I have same problem 2 times. First with 40G system only 2 weeks old. Exchanged that one with 80g system. This time it last 3 weeks. Now returned and got my refund back. Will not buy PS3 again until they solve this disc drive issue.
