Question about Poulan Garden

Open Question

Poulan Hello, I have a Poulan 2550 chain saw that I hadn't used for a couple of years. I discovered the fuel lines had completed dry rotted. I have new lines but don't know where they go from one end to the other. Is there a blown up view of the saw available online anywhere? Or can you help me? Many thanks, Howard

This is as good as fuel routing gets!!! If this isn't sufficient Find your nearest Poulan repair facility or try your friendly neighborhood chainsaw seller/mechanic. Resubmitting this question won't get any better answer. HTH

If it is a 2375 WildThing find 2375LE Gas Saw Type ?. The last digit of your serial number should be a -1 or -2, the type.

  • The filtered hose from the fuel tank connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer bulb (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill the bulb as the bulb reinflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns any excess fuel to the tank as it is depressed.

How do I replace fuel lines on poulan lines on gas string trimmer?

You will need to purchase some new gas line of the same size as on the trimmer now and cut it to length as needed. The line will go into the gas tank and will have a fuel filter attached to the end of it.
You will need to fish the line out of the tank and put the line on the fuel filter. To thread the new line through the tank or housing it helps to cut the new line on a 45 degree angle so you can grip the line and pull it though. U tube has videos on how to do this so you can have a better idea of what you need to do. It is a little tricky sometimes. Hope this helps.

The assembly fuel pick up fell out of my poulan 2150 gas tank, how do I replace?

You will need a pair of long needle nose pliers. Pull the fuel line through the gas cap opening and simply push the new fuel pickup onto it.

My mower seems to have low fuel pressure. Gas filter is new, lines are clear but sometimes the engine starves for fuel. The filter has almost no gas showing in the clear globe when running. Is the black...

Yes it is a vacuum fuel pump. Remove the line to the carburetor and place a clear container to catch fuel. Crank the engine and watch to see how much fuel is being pumped. It could either be a weak fuel pump or the pickup line in the fuel tank is starting to rot, depends on how old the mower is. The pickup line in the fuel tank is rubber, and sitting in fuel for many years can break the line down causing it to fall apart. It should be noticeable more if the fuel tank is below 1/2 tank. Hope this helps, Daniel.

Chain keeps coming off my electric 15 foot reach saw

It may be too tight or too loose.Adjust your chain tension. You want to be able to pull the chain about 1 inch from the bar.Should the problem persist.Check the blade for any bent parts. And inspect the chain for bent teeth.A chain will behave this way if it is very worn.If you have had the saw for more than one year and you have had a fair amount of use, just go a head and replace the chain.

Fuel lines in a 3200 series mcCulloch chainsaw. I have one line into tank. The other hole meets the existing fuell line. Is there only one hole in tank

Only one hole. The inside line has a weighted fuel filter on it that flops from side to side allowing the saw to pick up fuel whatever position you have the saw in. The other out line goes directly to your carburetor where a small suction fuel pump is built in. That fuel filter sometimes gets gunked up by left in fuel over the winter and has to be pulled out and cleaned. Just about all chain saws and for that matter two cycle garden tools have the same structure.
