Your leak may be at the pump as these will eventually have failed seals and need replacement. They aren't too hard to find, with the back panel removed, look for a roundish plastic device with several hoses attached.
You can get the part number from the Sears parts 'store' via an illustrated breakdown of your machine and order it from them or, if you have a Johnstone Supply store in your area, you can save a few dollars getting it there.

Washer willl not fill. some very small amount of water drips into tub. i fixed the problem once by slowly adjusting the switch. it began to fast fill when the water level switch was between water level...

sounds like a bad / stuck mix valve --- the mix valve is the plastic part that the hot/cold hoses connect to on the back of the machine,, remove the two hoses..remove the back panel and the valve is held in place by one small screw,, label wires hot/cold and remove the valve. write down the make, model and serial number of th emachine and take the valve down to your local appliance repair shop and buy a new valve and then install into the machine --- hook everything back upp and test the machine,, all should be good -- with full water flow.

Kenmore model 8566645 Washer is connected and runs but water flows out of the bottom and not into the tub.

Remove the front and side panels if you haVE TO. Look for a bad water pump most common on older units.

The fill tube to the tub from the fill valve is a second likely problem

I water filter located under the tub and in line with the water pump is also a possibility.

A bad hose is not likely but a connection to a hose could be a problem.

Kenmore 90 Series Washer : cold water fills at just a trickle:

your hot water goes through the water heater so contaminates settle in the heater. the cold does not, there is a screen inside the fill valve where the hose hooks to the valve on the machine. if this in not plugged then the fill valve will have to be replaced. because of the build up of contaminates..

Help

This should be a problem with the fill valve.

They are usually not very expensive.

Find your model and serial number for your machine and call an appliance parts store.

They should be able to give you a price or you can find one online.

Kenmore washing machine 80 series

check for kinks in the pipe or restrictions to the flow in the pipes before it gets to the washer, if all is ok then check the filter on the outside of the water connector on the machine for dirt

if you confirm all is clear and the flow of water is not the problem before the machine, replace the cold water solenoid
