turned out to be an expired copy of NORTON that had to be removed. Took a while to figure it out. The rep I chatted with on Skype, J/K I believe, was the best, simply the best.

Have you setup WEP security on the wireless connection? If so, you may need to re-configure the security key on the tablet. What is the IP address of the laptop? Do you see an error that the connection is limited?

Guru j/k and I spent several hours last night on this problem. We Instant Messaged on Skype and finally figured out that an old expired copy of Norton Security Suite was the cause of the problem, once removed, no mor problem. Guru is the man. He was pleasant, persistent and knowledgable. I highly recommend your service. If the need arrises, I will contact you guys first.

I am trying to connect my tablet to xfinty

You have to connect the tablet to your Arris 862 gateway "comcast modem" the key to your wireless is on the bottom of the modem on white sticker. The key is case sensitive most generally all in caps. Your network name is as well on the sticker should be HOME- and a 4 digit number. To get the tablet to connect you need go into "settings" on the tablet and then tap "wireless or may say WIFI", Find the comcast modem/router name "the Home- whatever number it is click it then it should prompt you to type in the network key.

I have a tx 1000 with pretty much the same problem. Short answer is : if you are still under warrenty demand that hp replace the entire unit (basically they put together a lousy design, it doesn't allow for adequate ventilation and consequently the motherboard cooks itself and other components attached to it. swapping out parts will only briefly "fix" the problem.
the simplest cheep fix is to get a usb wifi adapter and connect with that (untell eventually the machine will cease to boot, lights will come on fans will run but nothing else will happen)
and you like me will not only be the proud owner of a really cool looking paperweight but also will never consider buying anything from HP again.

My laptop used to connect to the wireless connection , but one day it stopped working and now i can only connect to internet using a lan cable

go into the device manager and uninstall the wireless adapter. Then click scan for hardware changes and let windows resinstall it. It sounds like a corrupt driver. Before doing so make sure you didnt hit the wireless button that shuts off the connection on the computer. :)

Getting harddrive info from a 'dead' Tablet computer...

The internal hard drive can be removed and connected to any desktop computer that has a SATA interface and power leads for the same.

Then you can actually "see" the drive.

P.S. This is all based on the assumption that the hard drive itself is not at fault and has physical and/or controller problems.

No internet on HP Pavilion Notebook

The first thing I would try is a USB wireless adapter. If this works it may be a hardware problem. If this does not work it is likely a software problem. Make sure the interfaces are not disabled in the connections window. Make sure you are using a good cable, test it elsewhere.
