My HP Image Zone program won't open on my computer.

When I try to open the HP Image Zone program, it freezes. I can't access any of my pictures.

When trying to load HP image Zone, it doesn't load leaving the program image in the middle of my screen and nothing happens. I have tried running updates to the program to see if that helps but nothing changes. The only way I can get out of it is to reboot. Task manager doesn't show HP image zone as running but the restart says hpqimzone.exe has to close before rebooting.

HP Image Zone won't open on my computer either! There is a message under the initial photo screen that I can't read. I can only close it and that is all I can do with Image Zone. Is there a fix?

How to put pictures from a computer onto poweshot a480 camera?

First of all, if you've edited the pictures in any way (opening a picture in a photo editing program and then saving it without making any changes counts as editing) then the camera most likely won't be able to display the images.

You can transfer files (not just pictures) to the memory card using a card reader. Plug the card into the reader and it will appear to your computer as another hard drive. Simply drag-n-drop files to it the same way you copy other files on your computer.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

The HP Image Zone or HP Photosmart software is not installed on the computer. Install the HP Image Zone or HP Photosmart Software, or see Using Your Camera without Installing the HP camera software in your camera User's Manual. The computer is configured such that it cannot recognize the camera as a digital camera using the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) standard. Set the USB configuration in the Setup menu on the camera to Disk Drive mode.

PC memory issues

If you're working with photo files, there's probably no piece of hardware that will speed up the process more than lots of RAM. Anything beyond 128MB will dramatically streamline your workflow. Image-processing programs like HP Image Zone need much more RAM to work efficiently with large files. But the slow speed may be due to another culprit: fragmented hard drive files. If you have problems with speed when opening or closing a file, perhaps your image data is scattered all over your drive. The result? Your hard drive is spending all its time and energy gathering the data to feed your applications. Defragmenting the drive is the simple solution to tidying up your files. If the files aren't fragmented and more RAM doesn't do the trick, your hard drive may just be slow. Consider replacing it or adding a second, faster one to your system.
