1.3HP CRAFTSMAN CHAMPION GARAGE DOOR OPENER-NEW IN 2004

My garage door is started giving me issues. When to open the garage door from the button on the wall, it started to open, then stopped. I would press the wall button again, then the door will go back down. I would then press the wall mount opener again, and nothing, the green light on the wall mount is not lit up anymore. I have to reset the main control box, then it will work once, then stop working again. I pulled the string to make sure the garage door is free and opening and closing manually, which it did. Hooked it back up, same issues.

Well sounds like its a pressure setting. you said you open the door by hand? Was it easy to do? Ask your self this can a 15 year old kid open it and close it? If so then it sounds like its a presure setting There should be two blue slots on your opener with numbers 1-9 says up and down force. Turn the up force towards the bigger number. Just a little bit. But before you do that as the other guy stated make sure that your cables and springs are working. Spring depending on your doors can be in three places but we going to assume you has the most common set up so look over the top of your door (with it closed) you should eb able to see a tube running across there. and somewhere in the in middle a set of spring look at the spring to make sure that you dont see any of the tube showing in the springs. Becare not to touch the spring as they are under a lot of stress.

I have a Model 2000 Chamberlain 1/3HP garage door opener manufactured 02/91 with a round yellow "learn" button, lost remote. Bought a replacement chamberlain remote, Model 956 which is supposed...

If the learn button is 'amber' the model 956 remote should work with it. Try this method for programming just in case your aren't.

Hold the button down on the remote while your press and immediately release the learn button. Main light should flash.

There is always the possibility that the receiver has quit working.

My Champion garage door opener opens by itself and the light does not come on

Look at the LED light next to the SMART/LEARN button on rear of the motor unit. You may need to remove a light lens cover in order to see it. If the light is flashing rapidly this means you have a stuck button on one of your remote controls. Take the batteries out of each remote control. When you remove the batteries from the bad remote, the light will stop flashing. This remote needs to be replaced.

If one of your neighbors remote controls is inadvertently programmed into your receiver, you door will open when their remote is activated. If this happens you will need to clear out your receiver and reprogram your remote controls. Press and hold the smart/learn button for 6 seconds or until you see the small LED light near the button turn itself off. If the above steps have been followed and the symptoms continue, there may be an electronic short in either the wall control button or the receiver logic board. In this case, remove the wall control wires from terminals 1 and 2 on the motor unit. Should the symptoms persist after the wires are removed, replace the receiver logic board. If the symptoms stop with the wall control wires removed from the motor unit, replace the wall control button, and the wires leading to the wall control button.

Programming remote, unit will not flash.

The easiest way to program is to hold the button on the remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button. If it worked before there is no reason for it not to work now unless it totally failed.
