When I removed this printer from my HP laptop, I seemed to have lost all docs to be printed. Because when I put the printer back on my laptop, it won't locate the old docs that I wanted to print. Are the old docs completed gone or are they somewhere on my C: drive? I can't find them anywhere. Thanks for your help! ~~Pam

Afraid not! Windows often saves a document automatically if it is recent. Go to Start>My Documents.
If that fails try a Search for the title of the doc.
Go to Start>Search>Documents the give any details you can
First dont wait and hour for something to print.. 2nd reset the Printer or go into the cue and delete the pending documents if its an office jet you need to unplug all wires including network cables or usb let unpluged for about 15 minutes then plug back it should clear the que
When you reinstalled it did you unplug it from the computer. Often links to printers are lost, it's a Windows thing, frequently people reinstall in desperation, forgetting to uninstall the original and disconnect the printer USB. So, unplug the printer USB from the computer, go to control panel, and printers and delete the printers that you are going to reinstall which you see there. Then go to add and remove programs and remove all software. If there are print jobs pending you may not be able to uninstall or delete, so click the printer and delete all jobs pending, then try the uninstall again. When all is uninstalled, restart the system and reinstall, plugging in the printer only when the software asks for it. It being an HP the uninstall option may well be on the installation disc so you can use that if you wish.
either the usb wire is getting loose in the new laptop port.or the port is faulty.press the usb wire tightly and then try printing keeping it pressed at the laptop side and printer side too.with some bodies help.
How is the printer connected? Try changing the data cable and also check in the laptop under printers and faxes goto the properties of the printer and check that the port is the correct one i.e. IP address or LPT1 or USB.
