Question about Philips PM4S Remote Control

2 Answers

Phillips remote does not work.

The remote for my DVD/Surround sound fell in between the sides of the couch. It was missing for months. When we finally found it, it doesn't work. We replaced the batteries, but it didn't help. The old batteries had not leaked or corroded. I suspect that the buttons had been held in the pushed-in position all that time. Is there any way to fix it? The product number is rc19245008/01. Thanks.

Greetings....Well the first thing I want you to do...since you said that the batteries had no corrosion or leakage is to check the battery contact terminals(where the batteries make contact) for the slightest sign of rust or oxidation..Sometimes moisture will form inside of the cover especially stuck between couch cushions with limited air circulation..if you have the slightest oxidation..clean them with a small piece of extra fine sandpaper..install a different set of batteries. If this doesn't work...the infared transmitter(eye) may have burned out during the time the buttons were pushed.Usually...some functions on a bad remote may work while others may not....Since the remote may be totally dead...you may want get a replacement. If you want to get an exact replacement...you can go to www.remotes.com .They can get a high percentage of original remotes for most devices....I hope this was helpful...PEACE...

I need help hooking up my tv and dvd player to my surround sound

for your dvd player you just go from audio out on the back of the dvd played to the audio in on the surround sound. and you would do the same for the tv if it has an audio out. your surround sound shoud have more than 1 audio in. and then when you swicht from tv to dvd you might have change the channle, setting, source, or what ever it might be called on the surround sound. and if your tv does not have a audio out contact me at swinginflames@gmail.com and i try to help you. hope that works :)

No 5.1 surround when adding a Philips upconvert player to the San

Sounds like you are getting analog signals from your componet cables and a true digital input from your HDMI into your tv.

However that unit is Analog audio input x 1 only.
So i dont think your going to get true digital surround sound.
The problem being

Sanyo =

Inputs: Analog Audio x 1 Outputs: Composite x 1 · S-Video x 1 · Component x 1 · Digital Audio Coaxial x

You did not say if you have connected the video out on the surround system to the video in on the tv. If not connect it and select that input on the tv.
