Connect the power cord, rise the cover that accesses to the print-carriage, turn On the printer; when the print-carriage move to left, unplug the power cord then, manually, move the carriage until the right area where you can open the cartridges-cover and change the cartridge you need.
You cant recode the cartridge it is programmed to die and fry. You can get chips but many DIY filling options are going to cause you other issues down the road, they are a cheap way to run your printer but eventually willc ause you issues such as ink leaks which leads to the in pad needing to be renewed not to mention some other horror stories. I would alays reccomend OEM inks, but if non OEM is hte way you want to go contact a retail outlet that specialises in refilling spent cartridges.
press the index sheet button and the scan button at the same time, you then get setup menu. use" >" to select "change ink cartidge". the ink cartidge will move to the opening position. lift the grey plastic clip at the back, and it will open towards you. then they just pull out
Generic carts are sometimes not recognized. Epson's chips are the cause. I solved this problem for a small investment. I purchased a CISS system for about $75.00 [ink included], that's the cost of OEM carts that do not last very long. The CX9400Fax is an Ink Hog, which is why the printer is so cheap. If you want a CISS go to http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/ They are great if you need help and will call you back in less than an hour. Get the Waste Ink Kit when ordering the CISS.
The ink cartridges are all separate so you press the cancel button
(with no jobs pending) to bring the cartridge holder in to the right
place open the holder remove the cartridge and then replace it, let the
printer purge the cartridge then your good to go
If you already have tried reseating all of the inks and and inks are still not recognized, Please contact Epson tech support for a replacement ink or if they find out after some diagnostics that it is the printer that is having an issue they would be replacing your printer.
