SOURCE: BROKEN OVAL INSERT. HOW DO I ORDER A NEW ONE?

so, here's the official scoop...
you can buy a replacement for this slow cooker.
call SelectBrands at 866 663 4500.
they will tell you that this product has been discontinued, but you can buy liners but not lids.
the liners are $20 with a $15 shipping & handling fee!

i don't know about y'all, but my slow cooker only cost about $32 total.
this is b.s. seriously.

if you REEEEALLY love your corningware slow cooker, but the replacement.
if you value having money or being reasonable, just go buy a different cooker - brand spankin' new for less than you'd pay to just get the replacement insert.

good luck everyone. SelectBrands also has no functional website.

SOURCE: The crock insert of the KSC700 keeps cracking.

I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. This may be an indication that the heating element is simply getting too hot, causing the ceramic insert to fracture.

Insert of a slow cooker over a gas flame

Stoneware by it's nature isn't designed for use over an open flame, as the flame can cause concentrated "hot spots" which could damage (crack) the crockery insert.

I've used mine to reheat mac & cheese I've made using the crock pot, but then again, my Hamiliton Beach crock pot stated the insert was oven safe to 475 degrees.

As far as using in an oven, most crock pot inserts can withstand oven temperatures, but refer to the owner's manual and instructions that came with your particular appliance to see what they reccomend in that regard.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

The crock insert of the KSC700 keeps cracking. The second insert I received cracked in the first 2 minutes of its use. I love the cooker but I don't want it if the crockery cracks every time.
