The colors on the file turn out totally different when printed on my Canon iPF 8000. I have a Epson and will print the same file and it will look the way it should be.

Cleaning the heads several times worked. I had not had any trouble with the Canon in the past, I guess I will pay closer attention to it in the future. THANKS

Make sure you are using the correct printer driver and make sure the paper size is correctly selected in the driver. If the printer is printing black only, the Ink option in the printer driver may be set to Black instead of Color or a setting in the software may be set to print black only. Also, the print head nozzles may be clogged. From the Utility section found in the printer driver, clean the print heads by performing a head cleaning followed by printing a nozzle check pattern. A head cleaning and nozzle check must be performed as a cycle. After printing a nozzle check, examine the printed dot pattern. Each staggered horizontal and straight vertical line should be complete, with no gaps in the dot pattern. If there are gaps in the dot pattern, continue with another cycle. Performing up to 6 cleaning cycles is not uncommon if the print heads are severly clogged

    1. Do a print head cleaning

    2. Print the nozzle check pattern

    3. - repeat steps 1-2 up to two times -

    4. Do a print head Deep Cleaning (Note: the Print Head Deep Cleaning Procedure uses a lot of ink)

    5. Print the nozzle check pattern (This will print a test page using all nozzles in the print head)

    6. - repeat steps 3-4 up to two times -
The printhead can also become clogged or blocked with paper debris or
solidified ink. If your print quality is poor or your printer will not
print at all, it may be time to change your printhead.

I think you need to manually move the carriage unit and replace the print head but go into the service mode first and see whether its asking to have the print head replaced before you spend any money.

there is no enough ink in the head managment sensor.
Go to menu, test print, nozzle check, check the grids 12 pair of grids.
Check if there are any brocken grids.
After that you have to perform head cleaning B twice or more.
If the problem still remains then replace print head.
also perform firmware update to the latest version though the official canon site

That is because it is printing the document as text. Not have=ing used a canon I presume it is the same as epson & HP. Instead of clicking the print icon click file print. A box should open allowing you to change the properties, seleect photo

it's a multiple problem....there is no enough ink for the head managment sensor to understand the good function of the print head.
Print a nozzle check to see what is going on
Then come back for more information

Canon ipf 8000 print head problems

You need to boot the printer into service mode.

Hold down the roll/source button and the info button while you are powering on the machine.

This should get you booted into the service menu where you can then access the replace printhead function

When you have successfully replaced the printhead, reboot the printer to get out of service mode,

You may also want to check the firmware version of your printer and update it.

Updates can be found on the Canon website

IPF will not print from PosterJet

in order to find out what is going on you have to print direct from the windows printer driver (print a test page) and come back.

I would try changing the ink cartridges and if you don't have a new set at least take out the ones you have and reseat. Also check Epson's site for new drivers. Try printing from a different program.
