Hello I have a RCA 32HD32D tv combo purchased new about 7 months ago. The picture has just gone black have sound but no video not the least bit impressed. 800 dollars worth of junk thought I had at 1 year warranty but no such luck 90 days is standard or so I have been told. Just plain crazy anyone else with similar problem and what fix is necessary to repair unit.So much for HDTV I still have my standard tv 15 years old works and with no problems. Is this what to expect from the HDTV industry poor quality poor service and a very limited warranty I guess its pay your money and take your chances. I certainly have no great desire to run out and purchase another defective built in some other country with slave labor and poor quality parts and an over onflated price. NOT IMPRESSED
Make sure the antenna signal is set to "cable". go to "MENU" "CHANNEL" AUTO CHANNEL MEMORY" "SIGNAL TYPE CABLE". then scan the channels into memory. if you have satellite or cable box hooked to your tv and you're using channel 3 o 4 and it's set to "AIR" it will not be able to find that channel since everything converted to digital signals. but if you set all your channels to "CABLE" your tv will work. I had the same problem of tv going to blank screen after a few minutes, now mine is working fine. I did NOT replace any board. I hope this works for you. Let me know.
I got a broken disassembled RCA L32HD32D from a tv repairman. Put it back together and it worked. He couldn't remember what it's symptoms/problems were. I used LPS #1 to clean the two long wide ribbon cables for the LCD & their sockets on the video board. That was the only repair that was done to the unit, so I can guess that the video boards heat on the non gold ribbon & plugs with corosion was the problem. If that is true for most L32HD32D flat screens, a person could fix their broken unit simply removing the 4" x 5" panel on the back middle, a finger nail by the ribbon under the black flap on the ribbon clip on it's plug in, pull up/out & the ribbon is released. Then smear LPS #1 on the ribbon evenly & put it in the socket, partially close the clip & pull out the ribbon a couple of times to clean all the contacts at once. Then a rag chunk in tweesers cleans the socket & a rag cleans the extra LPS#1 off the ribbon. Do both ribbons, carefully place in position & close the socket flaps click, = a 5 minute fix.
I hope this helps someone somehow.
Sincerely Bitdog

I have had the same problem as you. I had to fight with RCA till they sent me a replacement unit. The main board is what goes bad. I bought mine in september and it took a **** in febuary..Just got my replacement today april 30th ridiculas what I had to go threw and the replacement was a reman unit!!!! Serious Bull ****!!! At least I got a unit and the T.V. 's have a one year warranty threw manufacture....
Same problem here. Had the TV for four months and the picture went out. It had sound but no picture. After a big headache, they replaced the TV 3 months later. Now the new TV they sent me is having the same problem. Here we go again. Customer Service sucks. Each time I call it takes 45 minutes to get through. Bottom line is that these TV's they are selling are defective.
Usually no picture with sound on this unit is the ic chip on the main board has over heated. Have new chip soldered on or replace main video board to resolve problem. thank you
Replaced the LCD inverter board,to get picture back.Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy the board. It usally a long board.

I had this problem with my tv. I had it configured using the S-Video cable instead of the coxial cable. I reset it back up using the coxial cable and the problem went away. This really is not a solution, you should be able to use your TV with any configuration it is designed to use; however, it is better then no fix at all.

Usually answered in minutes!
I have the same problem as above. Ironicly I work in an RCA authorized service center however any time we try and call RCA for technical support we get a message more or less tell us the are too busy (don't care) and it hangs up. If anyone solves this problem please let me know. The most I can figure is either the pannel its self or the main board. Probably going to cost more than the customer wants to pay... I'm just saying....
same problem
sound no pic
Same problem, only had this piece of **** for 4 mnths. The picture went black. Has sound, but thats it. 90day warranty. Can you believe this S#@T!
The problem started with the TV going black, but had sound. You could fix it by turning it off, then on. Now, the color is distorted. I tried to adjust, there is no tint adjustment .
I had same problem, had to get local t.v. station to get involved. This is a problem with main pcb only answer is to get replacement unit. RCA is exchanging the old set with new set. It took me six months and a lot of phone calls. Thompson service, which also handles Phillips and other brands is very poor.
