Make sure you have the yellow wire is hooked up to a constant source, like your head lights, if you don't those settings won't get stored.

What are the best settings for bass , treble and mid in order to get the best sound

There are no hard and fast rules for setting Bass, Midrange and Treble on your radio. Depending on the type of music you are listening to with your radio, it can / will determine your sound settings. To attempt to set the sound settings on your radio, select the sound settings and set all of them to 0. ( Bass, mid, treble ), then start playing your usual music. With the music playing move the treble setting in single incriments 1,2,3,4 and so. A comfortable setting is usually a 5 out of a total number of 6. Then move over to Midrange and repeat process. A 4-5 out of 6 is usually comfortable. Finally comes the Bass. You do not want to overpower your speakers with too much bass as this will damage them over time. Repeat the usual process and listen carfully for any baffling or distortion as you move through the numbers. A comfortable bass setting is usually 2-4 out of 6. Again I must stress that there is no hard and fast rule for settings. It boils down to the type of music, and what your ears tells you sounds good. What sounds good to me might not be enough for you, or vice versa. I hope this helps! Cheers!

I am trying to adjust the bass and treble in the bass focus and t-adjust but it keeps reseting.I don't have the manual and I would like to know how to lock the settings in so I don't have to keep on...

If they reset when you turn off the radio (or the car) it is possible that you have connected the power wiring wrong. There are two 12v (+) wires. One that connects all the time to the power block (fuse block) and that one supplies continuous power to the radio unit and another that connects to the ON-OFF (ussually controlled by the Start Up Key) power side of the fuse block. If these are not connected correctly the radio re-sets everytime the key is turned of. One way to verify this is to check if yo loose your selected raio stations too.
Hope it helps.

My cda-9887 does not have a bass/treble setting. Only fade/balance

In the initial stage of the set up your 9887 the stereo is set with an Equalizer (parametric or graphic), Until you use the Imprint set up module to Tune your car you wont get bass / treble controls. Also after Tuning with Imprint you will lose the EQ function, and it will only be B/T.

I have an amp powering two subs but only work with the radio and not when its in aux mode or cd mode. do i need some other conection

I am not familiar with your head unit but I know some radios can control audio options for each source. My unit has adjustments for bass treble fade sub out etc in each source like radio, dvd, cd usb etc. I would check this first. For example, my radio can have the bass set to zero while the dvd can have the bass set to 5. If this is the case for your stereo, the sub out for the different sources can still be set to off.

Having Trouble Accessing Bass and Treble Controls

Only parametric EQ OR Bass/Treble can be active at a time. There is a option to set which one you want, refer to manual. Follow this- Adjusting Sound Setting Mode (long press "sound-mode" button) -> EQ SELECT-> select either P. EQ or B/T

Having Trouble Assessing Bass and Treble Controls

Bass and treble can be adjusted via the sound menu only when the z-enhancer is set to off.

To change them while the Z-enhancer is on (B-Boost, Excite, Impact) choose the enhancer mode, then press the play/ent button. You can then use the up/down arrows to adjust bass and treble to -3 to +3

Hi. SOunds like another case of power problems. Your deck has 2 power wires. One is yellow th eother is red. One is constant 12 volt battery power, the other is a switched 12 volt power, only has power with the ignition key on or on accesory. Get yourself a test light. I almost bet you do not have the constant 12 volt power to the deck, therefore your deck cannot hold its presets...
