Go to the dealer with your title, registration, and photo ID and they can look it up based on the VIN number of your car. They may charge you up to an hour's labor so be prepared and make sure they write down the code so you don't have to pay again if you need it in the future.

The original selling dealer will have the number, your local dealer should be able to pull up the information based on your serial number as to who the selling dealer was. your  original selling deale will help you free of charge. Once you have the number it's easy to code.
    Thanks for using FixYa.

Resetting radio after changing battery

Unfortunately you EITHER must take the car to the dealer and have them re-enable your radio at a cost.

OR

Pull the radio a small ways out and write down the serial numbers. Also write down the VIN number of your car then call the vehicle manufacturer and they can give you the unlock code.

NOTE: You may wish to call the auto dealer first to ensure they are willing to do this to save yourself the hassle. This must also be a factory installed radio, the original. If this is an aftermarket radio please take the car to the place you purchased the radio and they can unlock it.

Please check your manual that came along with the car as the codes are written in by the dealer.
if not check with your Opel service quoting your number for the code.
Since the battery was removed it has gone to this safe mode.

I have a vauxhall astra with a cdr 500 cd player in it but it will not play any cds or radio and keeps sayin error TR_ _ _ CD

From what I have been told, you would need to reset the unit. With a reset, basically disconnecting the battery cable you would need a four digit code. It was one that came with the car or the radio. It will put it into safe mode as if the radio was stolen. Once it is in safe mode you would then need to punch in the 4 digit code. That will reset the unit and allow the radio to begin working. If you do not have the 4 digit code you would then need to take it to a dealer and have them reset the code. I was told it would only be about $25 at almost any dealer.

Radio reads SAFE won't let me enter a code

Normally you do have to leave your car running sometimes 10 mins sometimes couple hours,

I had same problem with my one and i must have been driving around for days like it and one day it just decided to work

You may find that if you disconnect the battery for couple mins then put it all back together it will work

If not matey then you probley have a faulty headunit

so this is what i suggest to do

Number 1
Disconnect Battery for say 5 mins then connect it all up and see what happens if not you most prob do have a faulty headunit. you can take it to your local car audio shop and they will either repair it or decode it for you

Hope this helps you
