Question about HP Compaq Presario 730US Notebook
Hi, My Compaq Presario 730us has a problem. It seemed liked overheating. It would shut down after a few minutes. Now it won't start at all and when I plug it in there's an electrical smell. I've taken it apart and cleaned around the fan, which was dusty. Is there anything else that I can do, or do you think something has burned up, and if so, what, and what can I do? (Also I don't know if this helpfs, but when the adapter is plugged in it has a green light, but when the computer is plugged into the adapter, the green light flashes really fast.) Thanks for your help!:)
Sounds like the power converter that is probably on the motherboard, so you may be looking at a new motherboard. Hard to tell without seeing it in person, but you can take it some place locally and they can troubleshoot power issues for you. GL!
