Dismantling the LG LT20 back cover

I need to reach the power-supply socket internal connections to re-solder them.
Also, I need to tighten the screen-to body swivel joint.
Where can I get Dismantling instructions?

I opend all the screws on the back cover, then released the plastic hatchets, but still the back cover cant be removed.
It seems like there are screws somwhere under the keyboard that are holding it from the other side.
    Are you familiar with that?

  • ofersol Feb 23, 2009

    The model is: 2703H-LT20.

I don't think anyone will be able to provide you with a service manual here, but that's OK since common sense is the best tool when it comes to opening up a laptop.

First thing you'll want to do is find a nice clean surface to work on. Just start unscrewing every screw you see. Don't be afraid. They're only screws.

Take your time and just work your way into the laptop. If you just do that you should be able to open about 90% of all laptops out there.

If you get stuck let me know and I'll guide you with specific instructions.

I've got faith in you.

As far as the tightening issue goes, you might not be able to tighten it up depending on how it's manufactuered. Again just use common sense and you'll be fine. If there is not way to tighten the swivel because of how it's made, then just swap the part with one from ebay.

Best of Luck!

Step 1: Remove all screws from the bottom of the laptop. Afterwards remove the hard drive, memory, and wireless card. Make sure to remove the two small screws under the hard drive and battery.

Step 2: Use a small flat head screw driver to push the four keyboard latches back then lift up the keyboard and disconnect the keyboard flex cable.

Step 3: Remove the top five screws, leave the heat sink and cdrom screws in place.

Step 4: Use a spudger or flat head screw driver to open the plastic snaps along the perimeter of the case then remove the case.

Step 5: Remove Plastic LCD hinge covers by unscrewing the black screws on either side.

Step 6: Unscrew the frame assembly, disconnect the CMOS battery, disconnect the flex & LCD cables.

Step 7: Remove frame assembly. Lift up and out.

    Step 8: Unscrew/Remove the Chipset/Video heat sink

The pictures were taken using a SE w810i, so the quality is not the best.

1)
The first step is to unscrew two screws located on the back of the notebook.
Pic; http://peecee.dk/?id=29138 http://peecee.dk/?id=29139http://peecee.dk/?id=29140

2)
Next, take a look at your notebooks keyboard. Four "clips" is situated at the top of the keyboard. To unhook the keyboard these clips should be pushed into their sockets.
Pic; http://peecee.dk/?id=29141

To do this ive just used a kitchen knife with a blunt end, as seen in the pictures below. I guess a small screwdriver would do the job just as good.

3)
When these clips are pushed in, the keyboard comes right off the notebook. And you have acces to one of the ram sockets as seen in the pictures below. To set the keyboard back on, just push it into the fittings and down on the notebook and the clips come right out again. Remeber to screw on the screws at the back of your notebook again.

Please follow this to dis-assemble it-

Remove the keyboard screws from underneath the laptop, then flip over and use a flathead screw driver to unhook the hidden keyboard tabs on the top of the keyboard.
Once you've removed the keyboard you then remove the cable wire which connects it to the motherboard, this will also reveal the extra RAM slot which should already be occupied by the RAM that came with your notebook.

This also reveals the CPU, etc. You can remove motherboard mount screws, etc.

To remove the LCD casing;
Remove the rubber pieces from the mounts, then remove the screws from here. Once removed you should be able to snap out the LCD panel case starting from the bottom, but do this carefully as you could stuff up the panel.

Removing the keyboard on its own should give you good access to upgrade all the parts. The LG's have a great heat pipe cooling system!

Please tell the model no. so that i can help you.

You will have to get proper screw driver to make it open as it is just attached on screws and some locks of plastic.

How to fix power socket on D70PRO

The only option is to buy a used one from a local seller or eBay.com or just purchase a new PCB that's the only option if you try to connect to the battery direct you stand a good chance of causing it to explode! Good luck!

Kindle won't hold the plug to charge anymore. I have tried differenct chargers, they don't work.

Once the internal connector of the tablet is broken (which is what you are describing), there is no hope but to find someone willing to replace or repair the connection. The device was not designed to be repaired and nobody has been specificly trained to do that repair except the fellow in China who works on the production line doing that exact task on production "fallouts". There may be an "old school" electronics technician somewhere who could do the job but very tough to find one. It will be cheaper and easier to buy a new tablet.

Nexus 7 problems

Pop the back cover off. It's real easy - you can use a credit card or even your fingernails. Carefully prise all around the edges. It'll come off quite easily. Looking from the rear with USB port at the bottom, you'll see the left side if the unit is occupied by a large rectangular battery. At the top right of the battery is a connector with six wires. Gently disconnect the connector from the main board. Leave disconnected for about 30-60 seconds and then plug it back in.

Put the back cover back on, and then plug in the charger.

You Nexus will charge fine.

Is it a different charger? If it isn't try plugging it into a car or at home on the computer or the wall. If that doesn't work maybe getting it checked out will help.

My New Amazon kindle 3g just froze and I don't know how to take off the back cover what do i do?

Do not remove the back cover, there are no user serviceable parts inside. Instead:
  • Make sure the Kindle's battery is charged. Connect to a PC using the supplied USB cable until the power LED changes colour from amber to green.
  • Slide and hold the power button until after the power LED blinks three times. If the screen now is blank, repeat the procedure
If the Kindle still does not come back to life, contact Kindle Support.

When you plug in the adapter and wriggle the power plug and the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. You can DIY but if not confident to tackle it yourself then, I suggest you get a quote for the repair first.
