HP F4180 won't turn off

We've tried resetting to factory defaults without success. We can't get the machine to turn off at all. All the lights are on!
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks!

I had this problem for quite a while you have to tap they power button a couple times at first it takes a few times to figure out the correct timing but then you will be able to do it with just two correctly timed taps. I know it sounds silly BUT IT WORKS!!

Issue seems to be with the hardware of printer.

You can try following steps to reset it to "factory default settings"

3- Press and hold # and 6 on printer while plugging the power cord
4- Printer may shut off itself
5- Press power button to turn it on
6- Select country and language
7- It will clean and align itself. May take 7-9 minutes
8- It will print an alignment page, place the alignment page on scanner glass and press ok

Wish for all success..

I changed my ink, but the printer will not print in color. It only prints in B&W. It is a f4180. i have windows home vista. i need to print a school project by tommorrow - help!

Try unplugging the printer for five minutes and than plug it in back in and turn it back on. By doing this we are resetting the printer to the Factory Defaults, (settings that were set when it left the factory) Hope fully this will help you.

Cannot turn printer on

might as well do a reset:
for partial reset:
1.unplug the power cord wthout turning the printer off
2.while the cord is unplugges, press # and number 3 simultaneously
3.hold the 2 button for 10 seconds while inserting the plug back
4.release the 2 buttons when the printer reinitialized.

for semi-full reset:
follow same steps but press # and number 6

semi full means the printer is set back to factory settings or default settings.
