Question about Compaq Presario 5000 PC Desktop

1 Answer

I have a Maytag MAH6500aww front load washer. The washer does not agitate or spin. It goes through the entire cycle and u can hear the clicks as the cycle changes. The waters does drain after each cycle. However, the clothes are wet at the bottom and dry on top. The belt is still in tact on the drum. At the end of the wash, it gives an error message of Lr. Please help ASAP!! Thanks.

This is a frontload Neptune. I think you will find that the motor control located in the bottom right front of the cabinet is bad.

Water is lime heavy in my area and I am conscious this can build up in washing machines. How can I prevent a build up. Someone suggested using vinegar to rinse the drum but didn't know how much or...

You can use about a full gallon, run the washer full to highest load level, then add the vinegar let it agitate for a minute then turn it off with the drum full and let it set (longer the better) and the when done let it finish cycle (the rinse cycles will flush the vinegar and any lime dissolved)
I use a similar process to to remove scale from shower heads, my humidifier etc

Acer AM1100 hanging up on DMI update

Use "Load Factory Default Settings".
Reset the boot-order to floppy/CD/Disk0.
This will force a "full" DMI update.
Watch for the computer to spin the floppy,
and then spin the CD, looking for "boot" records.
If it does, then the DMI update has _COMPLETED_ and the "boot" process is starting.

CPU Fan Doesn't Spin

First time that I had heard of a Sony Vaio VGC-LS1, so I had to go take a look. Pretty Cool!

I can only tell what I think from a tech standpoint of view on it's processor fan.

1.This computer is housed in a housing that incorporates the LCD screen also. It's set up just like a laptop, except the LCD screen is in the body. (Housing)

This means you not only have the heat of the processor when it's running, you also have the heat of the LCD screen.
Plus it's all packed into one tight 'box'.

Processors give off a lot of heat by themselves. If they aren't kept to a certain thermal limit, they will burn up. Literally! Like ON FIRE!

When a processor goes beyond that thermal limit, there is a built-in Fail Safe feature that turns the processor off.

In ANY computer I've seen, or worked on, the processor fan is constantly spinning. As the load for the processor increases, so does the heat given out by the processor, and the fan spins faster.

It is my contention that you have a bad processor fan. I would at least ask a tech in your area, and see if this is so.
If your computer is turning off on you while you are using it,
you have a bad processor fan.

HP DeskJet 820Cse, on TP T20 using Win98SE, refuses to run, following a motherboard switch to a lesser model #. Download of dj379en.exe, when installed, gets error message that "communication"...

Would you believe that after totally unplugging the cable from the computer, and to the printer, and repushing the cables back in, firmly, the printer began working? This reminded me of the old Maytag ad, which showed the repairman fixing the housewife's clothes washer by plugging in the cord to the wall socket. Laugh.
