Hi and welcome to FixYa,

In most configurations, it would be:
Cable IN > Motorola Cable Box > A/V IN of VCR/DVD Recorder > Magnavox TV.

Perhaps it would be clearer if you could post back the brand/model of the VCR/DVD or preferably what available connectors are present at the rear of the Motorola, VCR/DVD and the Magnavox. Below is an example of how the wiring could be possibly done albeit for different brands.

Should you be interested in such a connection diagram specifically for your equipment, pls post back as requested. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

The easiest way is to run the cable from the cable box to the back of the dvd to where it says IN then you need to run another cable from the dvd player from where it says OUT to the back of the tv. that shouled get you up and going

If you want to connect a DVD player and a cable box to a TV that has only one composite video/stereo audio input use a AV (Audio Video).

here is your pictures for more help>>

The best solution would be replacing the cable box with a newer one that has digital output instead of coax.

Your magnavox has Coax input. You can connect cable box using this input if you have no alternative.
Using Coax (aerial) input you will also need to tune the receiver box as a channel on DVD.

As output from the Magnavox to TV you need to buy an adapter from component cabls on DVD to SCART on TV, here is the connector:

    4m ( 13ft ) Atlona High-quality Scart ...

Dvd/vcr recorder magnavox model mwr20v6, i got probelm hooking up my dvd/vcr recorder to my cable converterbox an tv , because i broke the antenne/ out socket on the back of the unit, how can i get it to...

Hi,If I understood correctly you broke antenna out socket of Cable box..ok no problem, your TV and cable box should have other jacs/socket for this connection as well..
Take the A/V output of your cable box into TV possibly with RCA cables..than you can select the channel thru Cable box on TV ..(AV mode needs to be selected on TV )

** in order to listen and watch your
magnavox DVD 's "2xRCA audio" and "1x RCA Video" cables "OUT" should go to Tv or Cable box "IN" connections separately ..("IN" goes to "OUT" of other ..pls remember,Always reverse connected ) (audio will come thru Receiver and TV.)

Since you successfully connected your Receiver to play video on TV (one way only ) ,here is the second reverse action if you wish to listen or RECORD a program on your TV on
magnavox
** you need to connect "Audio Output " as can either be : RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "SCART "connector " of your TV or Cable box .( every TV -cable box has different type of Audio out jacks )
** to "iRCA nput or "Optic Cable input"
of your
magnavox (whichever you want ,based on the necessary cables on your hand )

There you go..Tv/Cable box video and sound are both on the
magnavox for recording..

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.

Would like to record from my tv to my magnavox dvd/vcr combo box

If I understand your request right, You do not have cable or satellite box.
You can not record from your TV. You use the TV as a monitor from the dvd/vcr combo box. What the box receives is what shows on the TV. So you will have to have a digital convertor hooked to the (antenna in) dvd/vcr combo box, (antenna out to the tv antenna in) Depending on the antenna you are using that is on the other end of your cable-in coax connection this will hook to your antenna in on the digital convertor box. If your cable is hooked up and operating correctly and directly to the tv that is digital ready you probabbly have a good picture. When the vhf/uhf signal was transmitted you could go from the dvd/vcr to the tv with no problem. But now that the signal is digital and the tv is set for digital the dvd/vcr will not pass a digital signal to the tv. Best suggestion, you have to get a digital dvd/vcr receiver. If you have more question please contact me.

Usually a cable box has a RF (antenna connect) IN (from the external signal) OUT (cable going to the TV_RF in)
Usually one has to place TV_channel on 3 or 6 (my TV ch. 60).
EXTERNAL signal goes in CABLE box RF_in, CABLE box RF_out to the TV (RF_in).
In order to connect DVD/VCR, [IN LINE with cable & TV] just connect the RF_out from CABLE BOX into the RF_in of the DVD/VCR, RF_out of DVD/VCR to the TV RF_in.

your model is "tuner free" that means it does not have the RF screw in connector. Buy one that has a tuner, preferably both ATSC(USA digital) and NTSC(USA analog)

This recorder only records inline. This means that there is no channel on recorder. It records whatever your satellite or cable box is showing. You'll have to change the channel on that.

I don't know that this will work for timed recording. You'll have to make sure that your cable/satellite is on and set to the proper channel before you leave. This wont work if you're recording multiple shows on different channels while you're gone. In that case you may need a different recorder.
