Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
I have a hp pavilion dv6000 laptop and sometimes its dvd rw will not eject for no reason. If I keep trying 10+ times then it will. Anyone knows the solution for it. Thanks
The easy answer is that it's the cd or dvd, that somehow it makes the drive stuck, or it's not inserted properly. however, i'm sure you know how to insert a dvd, and that your problem is even with an empty drive.
then you have to think of something that may have gotten in there to jam the drive. paper, something from your desk. it does happen.
lastly, you're looking at hardware failure. of course, you can pop the drive out with a paperclip stuck into the little tiny hole in the plastic-- they all have them. that's not a solution, but it will get your drive open.
how are you on warranty? if you bought the unit of credit with a gold or platinum card, it may have doubled your one year warranty. you may need to replace your drive. newer laptops have a "bay" and you can just get a replacement and put it in, like replacing the battery. ask hp. I have a pavillion 6707 and i called 5 days before my 1 yr warrantee ran out, and they send a power adapter free, overnight shipping. they seem to be good about it.
let me know!
