Redefine your camera with defaults, or check if the date is correctly set.

I much cameras, if the date wasnt set properly this deactivates the date on the menu. check it out.

Good luck.

I have Canon Powershot 520 camera. How to get date and time on the picture?

Hello,
according to page 55 of the user manual you can embed the date and time into the image only when "postcard print mode" is selected. Make sure you have already set time and date as shown in page 22 of the same manual. You have then to select "date stamp" in the "rec" menu then select "date" or date&time" using the right or left buttons, and confirm with "ok". Then you shoot the photos and time and date will be embedded in it.
You can download the user manual here:

let me know if this helped you, bye

Can not seem to set date to appear on my Canon PowerShot A610 - is it possible? in menu Date Stamp is grayed out

If the current date & time is not set in the root menu, the T&D stamp feature isn't available.

Check your quality settings as well.
My Canon won't allow stamping on portrait-quality prints, or hi-speed settings.

I need to display the date & time on the photo can u please guide me

You need to do two things:
1. Go to the Rec menu (press Menu button and go to Rec), then scroll down to 'Date Stamp'. Select either Date or Date/Time, depending on what you want to be displayed. Press Func/Set, then press the Menu button to exit.
2. Set the recording size (L, M1, M2, S, Postcard) to Postcard. Press the Func button, scroll down to the size icon at the bottom, then scroll over to Postcard. Press the Func/Set button to save and exit.

Canon 540 has stopped printing the date on the snap shot

Hi, my name is Rob, and I can help you.

Your camera comes with a Date battery. It is a small lithium coin battery, model number CR1220. Well, it's toast. It seems like they don't last long because they're inserted at the time of manufacture.

Just pick up another one and re-install it.
You'll find it inside the battery/SD card compartment. Hook your nail under it and pull it up. Make sure you note how it sits in the holder so you can easily return the fresh one. - Minus side goes up

Thanks for coming to FixYa. Let me know if you need any further assistance. Don't forget to rate my solution.

Set the image size (L, M1, M2, M3, S, PostCard) to PostCard. Then, in the Rec. menu, set the DateStamp setting to either "Date" or "Date & Time".
