Hi, I just got a Epson Emp 82, the light was broken so i repair it by modding with a HQI lamp, however, the red light wich says that there is no lamp on the videoprojector is ON, I test with a real lamp of another emp 82 video projector and it's the same thing. (My lamp work on the other emp 82 just not enought light). Does anyone have an idea about how to know what is wrong? I think it's maybe the ballast, how to repair/replace it?

the top of the projector back left hand corner facing the lens. there is a panel door there is a screw located on the rear of the unit that holds the lamp cover. remove this screw then slide and lift up on the panel door. As you look inside you will see two lamp screw that need to be removed as well. hold the lamp and lift it up out of the projector. Insert the new lamp and replace the screw.
You will then need to reset the lamp hours in configuration menu. This is a good time to clean your filter this is located on the bottom of the projector near the front.
Just in case you dont have the instruction manual for this model (which does cover the problem you outline). Download the Zip File from Epson and open the Folder "Manual" and then open the file "English". Start at about page No;47 for this problem
I have included a Link (below) direct to the Epson support page for you, it's 3.64 meg of a download.............Hope this helps........Let me know?
