Your description sounds like low battery. I prefer not to just replace parts, but rather diagnose what is happening, for example, a dead battery is a victim and not a cause, if headlights were to be left on.
I prefer to fully charge the battery, takes about 4 hours with a shop charger...then load test it. IF fail replace battery and then check charging system. You need 13.8 to 14.5 or so when running at 2000 rpm.
A note about the clicking: in really low state of charge, often you have enough voltage to energize the soleniod, but not enough to turn the engine over, so voltage drops off, and solenoid de- energizes, then this cycles fairly rapidly, that is what makes the clicking noise...
