Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A couple of ideas you can explore/try:

  • temporarily replace the HP W1907 with another monitor. The purpose is to determine if it is a monitor issue or video card/computer problem; or
  • lower the Screen Refresh Rate of your Display Properties. Right click on any clear area of your desktop, click on Properties, click on Settings tab, click on Advanced button, click on Monitor tab;
  • disable (un-check) write combining. Right click on any clear area of your desktop, click on Properties, click on Settings tab, click on Advanced button, click on Troubleshoot tab.
Others are:
  • update video drivers;
  • update BIOS;
  • increase Video Aperture Size in the CMOS/BIOS setup to double the value of your video card's memory.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Try adjusting the screen resolution. better to adjust to a required aspect ratrio.

or try using new video card if you are using an onboard video.

While i am on my computer my hp w1907 monitor goes black. if i shut the monitor off and wait a few minutes it will come back on but then it only stays on for a couple minutes and goes black again.

This sounds like a power board problem. Could be failing power capacitors, which are allowing the charge to leak ( stripping the screen, not recommended) will show bulging or leaking capacitors). Or it could be an issue with the PCB. The fact it will restart once it has "cooled down" points to this.

I'm assuming you have tried the monitor on a different computer, just to eliminate the graphics card (unlikely but worth a go)

Solution..get it checked by a qualified TV repairman, it may a be a simple fix.

When I start the computer the Windows XP Logos light up on the Monitor (HP w1907) when the computer starts the Logo disappears and the monitor goes to sleep

If this monitor (HP w1907) is going into sleep mode the normally blue power led will change to yellow. This indicates loss of video signal or possible out of range resolution. If the picture goes dark and the power lite stays blue, you have a backlight malfunction. It can be an inverter power fault but this model mostly has worn out backlights causing a shutdown condition.

HP Monitor w1907 problem

First place to check will be the power supply section, look for bad caps with bulging top or bottom seal, post back what you see so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

I have an hp w1907 monitor i start up puter and after about 15 miniuts the monitor goes black i turn the monitor off and about 5 minutes later i turn it back on and works fine for about another 15 minutes

You could have a faulty inverter board. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp/s, these lamps are mini fluro tubes approx 1,5mm dia. and the length of the screen.
Check the inverter output/inverter board and you maybe able to get parts from

Auto adjustment in progress popping up and

Right click on your desktop, go to properties, and navigate to the settings tab. There, try to set the monitors resolution to the largest available. That should fix your problem. If it doesn't just try some other resolutions until ou find one that works. I hope this helps, Yannick.

HP W1907 Monitor goes black after resolution change

This is normal, but it should only take less than a minute for your computer to readjust, make sure all your graphic card drivers are updated, for that may be a factor.

Contact me if you need more detailed explaining.

When I switch on warcraft(or other games), the monitor shuts down but power light is on.

This is normal. BUT it should only do this while launching, once it hits the main menu clearly. It should be fine.

2. If you alt tab while the process is running, you may see the resolution change. But if you close it properly than it should not change except for those reasons/times.

Contact me if none of those do work,
Regards,
Asitomani
