Re: sim card registration
No, your handset seems ok. Its related with your SIM card's registration. Have you tried it on some other phone? Try putting the SIM card on another phone. Most probably the validity of your SIM card has expired. Please check with your service provider for re-activation if that is possible.

Hi, issues like this are related to your Sim card (network), not your Cell Phone . In most cases, regarding Sim card problem is from the Service Operator. Have you tried the Sim card on another phone? If not,
remove the Sim card, insert it on another phone. or you can do it in vise- versa by inserting another Sim card on your mobile.
If you can't receive text messages even when it's inserted on another handset, then you will need to call the customer care of your Network Operator and tell them your problem, they will help you fix it immediately.
If the same Sim card doesn't not work on another handset, don't bother to change the settings or to make any changes with it, first call the customer care and verify from them, you may make mistakes instead of fixing it.
Check that sim valid, Check with another sim card if problem not shows sim card may complaint do as follows Take the sim crd out and rub gently with a cotton cloth, and reinsert it. Or take to service provider & ask him to give duplicate sim. If problem with mobile try to dial *#7370#(Format), Or take mobile to Nokia care(Problem might be network ic).
The first thing to try is put the SIM into another handset - if you get the same error message on that, the SIM is blocked.
If it works in another phone, the most likely explanation is that the IMEI of your phone has been blocked by the network.
Factory resetting the phone will do absolutely nothing with this problem
There are 3 causes of Sim Card Registration Failed, when you first turn on the phone, the sim card attempts to connect to the network if it can not do this it gives a message like Sim Card Registration failed.
1, The sim card is turned off (is it Orange) if you have had the sim card for a while and it hasnt been used they will turn it off, you need to contact them from another phone to get it turned on or get a new sim card.
2, The phone has a hardware reception problem, when it attempts to register itself with the network it can not... There is a reception problem and it requires repairs, this isnt really an easy diy job on this handset.
3, The phone is blocked, i.e reported lost or stolen. Some networks when a phone is reported will allow it to get reception but will not let it make calls, however other networks will not give it reception at all and hence you get a Sim Card Registration failed message.
I hope this helps, these are the causes of the message.
Sounds like a deactivated sim card or a barred handset. Ie, reported lost or stolen
If you place an active O2 sim into a blacklisted handset your phone will not show any signal strength at all! If the handset is a Nokia then a "SIM card registration failed" message will also be displayed.
